Hi all,

New to the forums and a fairly casual 40k player ... I hope to get a lot more active, though. I'm a Necron player with regular opponents who favour 'Nids, CSM and Dark Angels. At the moment, I tend to either win big or get hammered ... hoping to improve my hit rate using skill, native cunning and the assembled wisdom of these forums!

Welcome, so when you get hammered, what's the cause?

Appalling dice rolls, obviously *cough*.

I think it's a lack of co-ordination between different units ... as an example, my Wraiths tend to spend most of the game lurking behind cover ready to boost across and contest table quarters 4 or 5 turns in the future, rather than pitching in right now and helping my scarabs or Flayed Ones (say) and turn a dodgy assault.

I suppose I just need to have a bit more of a strategic view of events. And bigger chrome balls.

Necrons can be a pain to get right in play terms, but keep at it, and it is often a good idea to use your Scarabs to just Tie up a unit like havocs and Devestators for a games, even if the don't kill anything-it reduces shots fired at your warriors.

Which reminds me, whats your army list?

Much love for scarabs! We usually play 2, 000 points, so my army looks something like:

Lord - lightning field, phylactery, VoD, warscythe - attached to warrior squad

Lord - destroyer body, phylactery, res orb - attached to HDs

12 x Warriors - d fields
12 x Warriors - d fields

7 x Flayed Ones - d fields

5 x Destroyers
3 x Wraiths
9 x Scarabs

3 x Heavy Destroyers
Monolith

Tragic?

Take the Disruption fields from the warriors, they're rarely effective. (And yeh, I know this isn't really the place to discuss army lists) Same for flayed ones, and give both Lords Res orbs, they are a life saver!
