Apologies if this has already been posted here, but I haven't seen it.
Dark Millennium Revealed.
I wasn't going to buy this one. I was just going to buy the boxed set and call it a day. I don't think I'll be able to resist this voluptuous rulebook, though.

Looking pretty good.
I'll be picking both the rulebook and the box set up.
Main book for reading and small book for playing.

It's hard to tell by just the preview page but it looks like the rulebook fluff won't be almost completely Imperium-centric like the last few books have been. Me like.

Unlike the past 2 editions, it appears that buying the full-size rulebook may be worthwhile.

The crystal buildings are Commoragh. It appears the DE fluff is expanded (thankfully!).
These have been online for quite sometime now, I thought everyone already knew about it :(
But the imagery looks delicious...
EDIT: The cover for the 5th edition boxed set (Commander vs Warboss) makes me wonder - these are generally based on the finished models, so I'm assuming the commander has a very ornamental Power Armour, while the Warboss might be able to trade his Klaw for an axe... *speculation*

That is a rumour. If you trace it back to it's origins (I read it on Warseer) the guy who said it claimed his source could be wrong. Which I seriously do not doubt. Like I've said before, the previous warboss had a pair of shotguns on his back, and so does this one. I don't think that a whole unit of Nobs would have the shotguns on their backs.

I think the "Time of Ending" is just the new state that the Imperium is in. Kind of like how Fantasy is now set at the end of the Chaos War, 40k is set in the aftermath of the 13th Crusade and beset from all sides.

It's not even really a new state. That's always been a tone setting concept for the 40K universe. Minutes from Ragnarok.
I flipped through the new rulebook today, thanks to my local GW. I was mostly just looking for the layout and new artwork, and I'll have to say I was very impressed. There are some very nice two pages color spreads, plenty of new B&W artwork, and a less Imperium focused (though they still get the greatest number of pages) fluff section. They definitely seem to be trying to evoke the older, somewhat darker tone. All in all, a snazzy looking book. Is it worth 50 bones...you be the judge. As a fan of the world, I'm excited to flip through it.
I did gave at the small pics of the new Starter set stuff in the book. I was impressed with the new plastic Commander. He actually does look like the artwork, with a huge cape, and the aquila perched behind his head (not on his backpack, but on his armor I believe). The Dread looked pretty nice as well.
I'll spend more time with it later, but won't worry about looking at the rules until I buy it.

Could you check if that big guy we've seen is really the warboss? He seems like a disappointment. I'd rather have a good sculpt for the Warboss than the Commander, but it doesn't seem to be so...
Other than that, I think I'll wait for the book to know all about the apocalypse.

I'm guessing then, Chuck, that on that preview page we've seen, that's a map of where all the major Craftworlds are? What sort of Eldar fluff is in there besides rehashing the whole 'Fall' thing. Do they give any indication on how Eldar armies are organised?

I'll check it out and report back. Each of the races gets 4-6 pages of specific fluff. Organization, unique art, etc. The Eldar did get a HUGE two-page color spread showing the interior of a craft world. I don't remember their specific fluff details. Not all overviews are laid out the same (not everyone gets the two page art spread, some get something else, etc). I'll skim the Eldar thing next time I am in (this weekend, likely).

want. It is about time they got their g a k together and got their fluff organized in one place. They could almost do a fluff supplement, to reboot everything and make available stuff from 2nd ed and Rogue Trader.

I want the full book to read, and a mini to take to games so my only quandary is which version of the book to get. The ornate limited one is out so the question becomes: "Is the Gamers Edition model case worth the extra money?" That is what I would like to know. Going by British prices it is 18 Quid or about $36 after removing the cost of the book, templates and markers.
Anyone know how many figures it holds? What type of foam does it come with? Does it come with enough foam to fill it?
Any information is appreciated.

According to the general fluff, the Imperium has been treading the edge of the abyss for 30,000 years, and before that it was in really dire straits. So no reason to expect a sudden change now.
I would like the rulebook to be 90% rules, 10% fluff and have a separate fluff supplement.
