Do daemons deep strike wihtout error up to 6" away from the unit with an icon or 6" away from the icon itself. I am planing on running some 20 model daemon units and this matters alot.

Also does the 6" mean the middle of the unit DSing in or the edge of the unit?

That is to say if I have an icon in the middle of my 20 daemonette unit and want to DS in another 20 daemonette unit off that icon can the closest models in each unit be 5.99 inches apart or will they be basicly touching?

You’re going to want a real answer from someone who actually has Codex: Daemons in front of them, but I’m going to take a guess that summoning from an Icon works the same as it does in Codex: Chaos Space Marines for our generic Lesser Daemons.

You place the first model of the Deep Striking unit within 6” of the icon-bearing model. So there can be no more than 6” between the bases of those two models. If you do so, the daemons don’t scatter. You then form concentric circles around that first model.

The placement of subsequent units all comes down to where exactly the models holding icons are. AFAIK there's no requirement that the one holding the icon be the first model placed.

One note that may have been covered by Mannahnin's post, but I thought that I would expound upon. The first model of the demon unit (based on the CSM rules - these may or may not be the same with codex:demons) needs to be placed within 6" of the icon bearing model, but other models can go out side of the 6" area as long as they create concentric circles around the first placed model.
