Hey guys, this is my "competitive" marine drop list. I haven't played in 5 years, and I was used to 3rd edition, so please criticize because it's likely I have no idea what I'm doing. I know it's probably going to change a bit with 5th coming out, but hopefully not too much.

I ran a similar list.

I then swapped over to Space Wolves.

They lose 1 special weapon, cost 2 points more, won't be illegal in 3 months, and gain alot of neat rules.

I've found 6 tactical squads and 4 'other' squads gives me the oomph I need using SW, mostly because I have 5 pods that drop (on average).

YMMV. Your list looks like one I cooked up when the smurfs first came out, minus the terminators. Took a while for the locals to figure out how to beat it.

What do you mean illegal? You mean the double assault weapons / dreads I presume? That sounds like an interesting list you ran, probably a lot stronger with the apparent troop changes. Did you equip any squads with CCW + BP (blood claws)? Also, do you run a librarian + termies? How do you use the SW rules with the new codex?

Yes.
It's stronger now, but it was weak overall--there's no need to take 10 tacticals unless you don't want to min-max the list.
No, no blood claws. They're not good enough in a drop pod list.
I ran a Librarian in the legion of the damned version (pre SW) but now I have to run 3 silly HQ's for the SW and don't have access to libbies.
I as a rule don't run terminators. I just can't justify the costs GW assigns to them. If they ever get a fantasy style save, I'll load 'em up.
The SW rules with the marine codex? You don't really, you just use the SW codex.
