I got multiples due to the 5th edition wound allocation rules (for shooting) I'd really hate to lose embolden or enhance, although when taken in context of dropping the 2 jetbike squads it could allow me to purchase an additional vanilla bike warlock. What do you think?
I guess I can see getting a back-up, but 3x Embolden, at least, seems excessive. Enhance may be a little expensive to double up on. I'm not sure.
On another note, given 5th ed casualty removal rules, perhaps it would make sense to give one Embolden lock and one Enhance lock a Singing Spear to make them unique models, allowing you to stack wounds.
Makes sense, scoring units score to the last man in 5th Edition. However, with the reduced reliability of finding 100% LOS blocking terrain I thought 4 would be better for more ablatives and to increase the time it takes before I am taking LD checks.
Has it been changed to "more than 25% casualties?" In 4th, it's 25% or more, so the fourth man doesn't affect the point at which you have to take a test ( 1 casualty).
With such a small squad--three or four flying Space Marines, woot--I honestly think you're better served making them a less juicy target than beefing up their numbers. And ablatives don't work as well as they used to, as you point out.
Pathfinders are the new Harlequin. 1/3 chance of AP1 on to-hit rolls, 1/6 rend on wound. All at 36"... I can't see any reason not to take so many, especially with the prevalence of 4+ cover saves (getting bumped up to 2+ by their stealth bonus). Anyone else have input on this?
They're good, I'm just not sure there'll be enough suitable targets for them. They're not very killy when they're stuck shooting rank and file.
'm torn on this one too, while I agree that shooting light armor with the EML is going to give you a better points conversion potential for the Vypers for the additional 10 pts that the shuricannon is going to cost you are giving the Vyper the ability to move-and-shoot the S4 profile of the EML and get 3 x S6 shots from the shuricannon after all the tanks are dead. Huge increase in output for 10 pts when facing horde armies. What do you think?
I think I'd rather my Vypers live. They can hang in there for quite a while at 48", as most people would rather fire their autocannons and lascannons at something else. At shuricannon range, too much stuff kills them too easily. Against horde, just plink at them with plasma missiles; they aren't horrible.
