So I picked up the Chaos Demons Codex this weekend. One of the little fluff stories is about the Guardian of the Maze in Tzeentch's domain in the Warp. It mentions a young girl and her black dog being the only one to ever answer all the riddles and get thru the maze. The Guardian claims she cheated. Friend and I are curious who she's supposed to be. Knowing GW I'd think it's some kind of reference to some other work of fiction or possibly nonfiction. Closest I can think of though is the girl as Dorthy and Toto, with the Guardian as the Cheshire Cat.

The Cheshire Cat is from Alice in Wonderland........
Could be Elphaba, Wicked Witch of the West or Miss Gulch.

Yeah, but the cat's the only thing I can think of for a floating mouth.
Who's Elphaba or Miss Gulch?

What were a girl and a dog doing in a maze run by a chaos god? Did they think they were at Disney or something?
Chances are its just an obscure story with little or no refference to the outside world, they maybe just want to show the innocence of a child can beat the Chaos Gods... that there is hope for people after all.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |
