Could someone show me some examples or give me some tips for painting canopies on things like wave serpents and falcs?

What sort of tips?

I only paint the 'strutwork' on mine (I use testors 'maskol' to mask off the 'panes' and then just paint away. The maskol peels off like tape.). It was a trick I picked up from an old modelling buddy years ago.

I know others who actualy mask theirs with tape before painting.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I was actually going to paint the canopies themselves, I'm not a big fan of the clear canopies.

I redirect you to this army for some inspiration on the canopies. They're simple yet elegant in their execution. My favorite painted canopies so far.

You can use a translucent blue. I used to use a brand call Gunze Sangyo Aqueous blue. This would make the canopy translucent, where it would hint at the pilot inside, but not show it.
