Hey guys, I am working on my damocles today and I got some FW doors that are a bit warped. I have heard people say just put it in hot water and straighten it but I am curious for a bit more detail -

1. Is hot water from the tap hot enough?
2. Do I let it soak or just dip in and then straighten?
3. Do I "hold it" the whole time or place it under a book or something? Does that weight mess with the sculpts at all?

Thanks!

I have assembled around 4 resin models now and I find the tap water works fine. I hold the part under the tap and bend it to the shape that I want it. I periodically remove the piece from under the tap and hold it while it cools. Eventually the part will retain the shape you want. This may take a little time so be patient.

It depends on how hot your tap runs and how thick the resin piece is. Fill a glass or bowl and soak your piece for 30 seconds or so. Flex it gently. If it doesn't want to bend don't force it, give it another soak. If that still doesn't work you need hotter water. Microwave the water for 30 seconds or a minute and then try another soak.

To set it just hold it until it hardens, it shouldn't take long. If you're impatient run it under cool water.

personally i fill the cup with boiling water, put a piece I`d like to reshape into it using tweezers for 10 seconds. After that time resin should be bendable (of course if the piece is not too thick). When it cools down it becomes tough again.
