Using techmarine silliness to attach to any elite or heavy choice involving a vehicle without counting on FOC.

5 man Devastator w/ 4 Heavy bolters 150 pts
Razorback w/ twinlinked Heavy bolter 50 pts
Techmarine w/ 4 servitors armed with heavy bolters 175pts

total 375pts

1125 pts 27 heavy bolters, 81 str 5 shots. 725 pts left to fill out army with Deathwing termies with Belial or Ravenwing with Sammael.

Is this viable for 5th?

well dam thats alot of Heavy Bolter's....

What about Anti Tank consirdering Tanks are amazing and you need Lascannons for them basically.

For 5th Ed.

I have 725 pts to round out army. Tanks don't control objectives. This list will shoot opponent's troops off table.

This is just a start. I could reduce to x2 Devs and do something different.

Just throwing this out there to show 6 Devs using 3 choices,

I'm pretty sure you can't take Techmarines for Transports.

You also need troops...

I realise tanks dont contorl objectives but a Russ can end a Dev. Unit with one hit.

I have 725 pts. These points are to fill out list. Adding troops will be addressed.

Yes, I just read...... it says non dedicated troop transports.

So I may adjust and make the devastators predator distructors, thus giving me an additional 165 pts to work with.

you may get the addiotonal surivablilty but you will pay for it in loss of firepower. What I would suggest is taking three dreads with lascannons and then put the tech marines in with them. That should be relatively nasty in 5th seeing as they are better at surviving. Just dunk the dread in cover and you should be good to go. (you might also want to put a ML on the dreads as well)

So that should pay off your anit tank and now all you need is two full squads with rhinos for objectives taking and some counter attack if needed.

Point to remember though. All enemy units can conest objectives. They can't claim them, but they stop you from doing so as well.

so you do need troops to claim Objectives as well thats what i'm saying you can hold yours.

But if there behind something or out of range then you'll have to move wasting a turn of shooting.
