I've already got my next main project for after I finish my Flayed One Lord planned. If you've read the fluff stuff in the Apocalypse book about Necrons, it talks about their command structure. The Flayed One Lord is a Silver rank Lord. This next guy's going to be a Gold rank. Was doing an inventory of parts I have and parts I need, and I'm going to have to get a Destroyer on Tuesday from the FLGS to get more needed parts for this. With my excitement level for this, it'll be another sleepless week next week as I work this guy out. Untill then, I figured I'd throw up a teaser image just because I can.

Easy step before work to see how Step 2 came out, which I would say was rather quite well.

Its looking fantastic, and I can't wait to see what you're using the imprint as.

I'm only "stepping" one initial portion of it in case someone asks me how I did it. More over I should have that portion done today if it works. If it doesn't I'll probably need to buy a new Destroyer as this one will be, well, destroyed.

Nope, it's just made with parts from one. This guy should end up so cool that no mere "Lord" rules can represent him. He'll count as my Deceiver.
As an aside, first attempt was a failure, but not a critical one so I'm not out a Destroyer yet, and I believe I can compensate for what went wrong with my next try.

Ah, I never played DoW, I think that's what you're referring to. He looks cool, a little simple from the shoulders down, and too big a gap between the legs, I always hate that. Might I suggest a tabard from the waist down, matching the cape?

Impressive. Most Impressive. That chest piece might be a good opportunity to put one those miniature lights behind Jamsessionein showed us once.
But now I can't shake the idea of a Necron Lord with four lightsabers.....

He has... legs? Well at least something solid I can build his legs around. He's going to be floating above the ground, legs just hanging limp below him, thus their straightness. They look about the right length though?

Oh, and OT... If you're going to do General Grievous then don't do the movie in which he royally sucked. Stick to the cartoon where he was truly bad ass.

Continuing OT: Dude, that mini series was kick butt! So much better than the movies! I still hate Anakin in all forms but 4, 5, and 6 Vaders, not 3, he was still too... bleh. I loved the assault on the Council in the series. Cartoon Network, but still awesome.
Edit: Oh, and it is looking awesome! I love how you stepped up the staff a bit more. That metal cloak?

Shouldnt you have painted the model before adding the green? Otherwise you may accidentally paint over it, but you obviously know what you're doing.

The problem with that is the green is built into in ways I can't really just add it after painting. I can probably pop out the one longer rod on his staff, but that's about it. The heat of the molten green I put into his chest actually caused a bit more melting of the plastic around it than I thought it would. Mostly this was all on the inside, but it did take off some plastic around the "love handle" areas to make some gaps I had to fill with Green Stuff. I'll just have to be really careful when I paint it.

You should mask it. Get some quality tape and cover it. After that you can paint around it all you want, you can even spray it.

Oh my procrastinating ways... Started some of the work on Green Stuffing all the bits that need it. Ok, so all I did was one leg, that still counts. Look good? About the right scale? Angle?

Leg looks about right, to scale.
Might just be the mixing of the GS, but that right side of the thigh looks as if you have a smoothness issue going on there.
As for protecting your green rod & chest piece... a nice thick covering of elmers glue will work, as well.
Paint it on in successive layers until it's good & thick.
Paint over it
When you're done painting (and after sealing it), CAREFULLY remove the Elmers with an Xacto knife.
Voila!
