There is a site where a guy turns his tyranid army into aliens from the movie.
I just recently aquired 6 genestealers as part of a trade and I do not collect nids but I thought it would be fun to make my 6 Aliens hell this may just pass as PH nids since the first contact withy them was during the Age of Terra around 2300

ps this is just the primer

Be careful not to nick it with your xacto knife, I bet it has acid for blood.

Cool conversion.

You gave me a terrific idea for the seconds ones base.
He's going to be a little shot up dripping acid on diamond pattern metal floor
Now I think about it I am kind of mad I did'nt go space hulk base on this guy too

This "guy" is actually Necros and member of this forum. Is the tail out of greenstuff? You may also check out NAVARRO's site he does awsome stuff with genstealers.

Well then I must give Necros mad props and this nid is pretty much done by using his tutorial on the Aliennids site but I did add g/s to make the tail longer and also finish with the new GW wash badab black
Here he is done up

oooo... creepy. I clap for you. One thing I wonder is why his mouth and tongue look metallic. So, I ask, why? Is that how it was in the movie?

He had metal teeth in the movie, not sure about the tounge TBH I need to add a second mouth to the tounge
And I am going to rebase him so he will match the others,I want to go with a space hulk base

I'm sure that will look great. Is this from AvP? Cause if it is you could possibly modify a spore mine (yes, I know, you don't have anymore Tyranids) but you could modify one and place it on his shoulder to look like one of those face sucking creatures is leaping over him at whoever he's charging.

I built an "alien-nidz" army for the 2007 GT circuit and it played well but the paintscheme does not lend itself to good painting scores. The army seemed to look all black on the table. If I painted it again, I would find a way to use brighter bases to bring some color to the models.

nice. A much lighter base colour would stop the 'all black' look, and yes, personally I'd rebase them on acid-eaten bulkhead bases.

Is the site we are talking about Tyranid Biodiversity? Its a great site, but it doesnt seem to be updated often..

Malfred: Terminator Armor has always had room for extra boobage.
Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

I already rebased the one on the pic on a space hulk esque base and as for acid eaten well the primer on the second one is drying

Damn Navarro I just checked out your nids,I have to say the best nids ever by far your alienid makes me embaressed that I even put my pics up,I would like to steal about 1000 ideas off of yours
I love the way you tackled the second mouth, the base.

Your pic is the new reference I'm working off of

Hey, looks great so far

once you start making a few heads you'll see how easy it is. It's just greenstuff squished over the eyes, people always seem to think there's some hardcore sculpting involved

I haven't done anything with my nids in a real long time ;( I keep meaning to get back to em but I just have so many other projects on my plate like my chaos army. I'm forcing myself to finish painting all the stuff I have before I start buying more.

If I ever were to do a GT this is the army I would take, I know I'll never win but it's fun when people ooo and ahh when they see it.

Anyway glad to see someone else is trying it too! good luck with it

ps: I also like the extra long tail you did.. never thought of that but in the movies their tails are whipping around all over the place. Might have to steal that idea when I get back to my bugs

looks great. I really like the idea. I think you should do something with the bases though. Kinda like space ship floors instead of sand.

40k - Orks (lots), Nids, Elder, Necrons, Demons, Space M

WFB - Orcs, Demon Nurgle (not updated), Zombie Pirates/ Vamp Counts, Tomb Kings, Wood Elves

LOTR - Uruk Hai, Rohan

The bases are already fixed, the sand base irked me too.
After I built my third one using BoM stealers and studying the Nid off of T.B.
I went out and bought a box of real genestealers.
the fourth will look alot more like Navvaro's
I'm not as good of a scuplter but I was able to pick out quite a few techniques he used.

@Necros see what you did? You started all this alienid movement, shame on you

When I first started painting Nids I wanted to do a similar scheme based on said movie. After painting a couple of models, I didn't like how they looked. You did a better job than my attempt. Like the conversion work too.

Looks like a very enthusiastic projekt to me now. You really doing only 6 of them?
