Okay, just bought two Tyranids Battleforces - trying to determine how to kit out the Warriors and the Carnifexes. Below is the list. One thing, (and I just know someone is not going to read this and post a comment anyway) - I will not use a Hive Tyrant so do not recommend me adding one. I'm not getting into the reasons, so just don't mention that I should add one. Just pretend we are in a universe without Hive Tyrants. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! Mez

Ok. You may need some AT firepower - Venom Cannons or Barbed Stranglers or both on the Carnies. You won't need the extra shots on horde armies, as you have the combat power to gank them.

A couple things:

I think your genestealer squads are a bit big, it only takes about 3-4 of them getting into CC to make your opponent wish they hadn't. I run 2x squads of 8 in my nidzilla list and they tend to do more damage than anything on the board.

Also, unless you really like warriors (I'm personally not a fan, so take this with a grain of salt) I'd move your dakkafexes into the elite slots and put some more big guns onto the fexes in the HS slots. If you do want to keep the warriors for the more hordey effect, I'd drop the dakkafexes for some VC fexes like Lords said. It is kind of cool and themey that you have so many warriors, but remember that toughness 4 and a 4+ save only get you so far - even with 2 wounds.

Another option for increased AT power is a couple more Zoanthropes, but they are a bit expensive for a 24" lascannon.

Anyways, hope this helps. Glad to see another Tyranid player not playing with that flyrant mumbo jumbo.

Thanks you guys. Instead of the Dakkafexes, sounds like two with more heavy weapons for attacking vehicles are better - how would you equip? (Enhanced Senses, Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler?). Trying to keep them relatively cheap but allow them to still achieve their objective, (so don't want alot of extras, but if something is a must-have, let me know).

I think Reinforced Chiton (+1 W) is probably the closest to a must have, so could throw that in....

Thanks,

Mez

You are right on track there. Enhanced Senses, Venom Cannon, Barbed Strangler and +1W are the standard build on them. Some people use T also but its abit of a overkill most of the time and costs.
