This list is designed to have CC in mind, but with an ample amount of dakka. It will have a VERY solid core of Warriors and an independent Lord.

HQ
Necron Lord, with Phase Shifter, Destroyer Body, Gaze of Flame, and Warscythe. - 185 pts.

Elites
10 Flayed Ones - 180 pts.

10 Flayed Ones - 180 pts.

10 Immortals - 280 pts.

Troops
10 Warriors - 180 pts.

10 Warriors - 180 pts.

10 Warriors - 180 pts.

10 Warriors - 180 pts.

10 Warriors - 180 pts.

Fast Attack
5 Scarab swarm bases, with distruption fields. - 80 pts.

5 Scarab swarm bases, with distruption fields. - 80 pts.

5 Destroyers - 250 pts.

Heavy Support
Monolith - 235 pts.

2 Tomb Spyders - 110 pts.

Total points value: 2380 pts.

Any suggestions on what to fill that 120 pts void with to make it a grand 2,500 pts total?
The Lord will strike out on his own, chasing down vehicles and infantry who are seperated from their comrades. The Immortals can advance laying down a field of fire, focusing on elite infantry and MCs such as Wraithlords. The Warriors will make a phalanx formation, advancing steadily towards the bulk of the enemy force. The Destroyers will skirt the table edges and hop between cover, making hit-and-run attacks. They might be following the Lord. The Flayed Ones will Deep Strike near enemy shooting units, then charging them. the Spyders will advance staying near my Warriors to aid their WBB rolls and will go on the offensive if things get too close. The Scarabs will Deep Strike depending on the scenario, maybe in cover initially. The Monolith will stay behind my Warriors until it gets in range, then will unleash its guns. It can also pull the Flayed Ones out of CC if they're in range and not doing well.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

If you're going to take that many warriors in a phalanx formation then the value of having nearby resurrection orb goes up exponentially, so I would sink some of your points into a second lord, and giving him a veil would also be useful (drop a tomb spyder for the points if you need to, they're terrible)

That's why I have Tomb Spyders, to res the warriors.

From the brief glance I can afford, it looks horrible.

Sorry I can't really ignore you so I can read what you say...

Bloody hell, don't be so rude and just say it's horrible. Take a good look and check my reasonings on why I'm taking this list.

Tomb Spyders do not function in the same way as a resurrection orb at all. The res orb compensates for a unique weakness in the list, which is why pretty much everyone takes one.

With regards to what Stelek said, I agree that it is an incredibly ineffective list, but I thought you were just making it for fun rather than for it to be effective (hence the use of flayed ones and tomb spyders).

Immortals are horrible at shooting up MCs, especially Wrait Lords...20*0.667*0.167*0.33 = 20/27 = 0.7 wounds. What a waste.

I know its CC oriented, but you have none of the nerons best CC units, Wraiths, who have are quite good under v5. I6 for easy run down/hold in combat, much more easily able to break enemy leadership, tear vehicles to ribbons (S6+2D6 with 4 attacks each vs AV10). I think two units of three with an orb lord nearby will become popular.

I think, given the general weakening of guass, you really need some heavy destroyers - also to help deal with MCs, Wraith Lords, heavier tanks and the like. They slaughter Obliterators as well.

The Warriors should probably be in larger units to get better use of the Monolith portal - teleporting only 10 warriors is no where as good as 15+.

Hope this helps!

Wraiths don't get 2D6 AP... they're not MCs. The Warriors are in squads of 10 so they can engage multiple targets. Immortals have str 5 ap 4 assault 2 gauss weapons, so chances are with 20 of those shots, something's gonna get wounded.

That list will get owned. Absolutely owned.

Problems I see:
1. Don't ever take just one squad of immortals. Always take multiple squads of them or dont take them at all.

2. Same goes for destroyers. In a game this large your opponent will have NO TROUBLE AT ALL dropping 5 destroyers and denying you wwb.

3. Scarabs are good, but you have only 10. This could prove as a worthy distraction for pherhaps one turn of shooting, at best. But if you are going to take scarabs, take more than just 5.

4. A ramboing Destroyer lord at this points level will get dropped. Hands down, wont do a thing. The game is simply too large. He will either get gunned down, or swamped in CC. Yes, you might get lucky, but with a game this big, he has a VERY low chance of doing ANYTHING!

5. Losts of warriors, this can be good if done right. However, THERE IS NO ORB!! Without orb, those 50 will get dropped by S 8 weapons such as battle cannons. For the time being, lets say your opponents doesnt have any, you army still consits of mostly models who have rapid fire weapons. This means, while you advance, you get dropped and do NOTHING to you oppoent, unless he is stupid enough to charge a 50 warrior blob.

6. The monolith is an amazing vehicle. However, you have 1 trying to suppost 50 warriors. In a game this large, the monolith will either get blown up by focused fire, or will do next to nothing becase you are using all of its power to summon warriors who arent killing anything.

7. Tomb spyders will basically do nothing here. they DO NOT ACT as a res orb, they only allow wiped out squads to preform wwb anyway if there is another units of the same type still on the board. they too, are just a points sink in this situation.

Basically, you elites will get dropped and you will be stuck with a slow mocing, short range blob of warriors that will get gunned down. Sorry to be harsh, but if you dont believe me, just try out this list. The best way to learn an army to to get beaten and beaten alot. So after all this, if you think I am full of it, play test your list. the odds are you will lose. This is not a bad thing necessarily, because it will show you first hand your armies weaknesses. A

anyway...I am starting to ramble. Weak, weak, mega weak list at this points level. Re think this and try again.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I think you need another Monolith in 2500. But I am not familiar with relying on Tomb Spiders.

You clearly dont understand maths - I showed you how bad they are against MCs, so do not be dismissive. If you want to use them badly fine.

I'm sorry you are getting flamed about this list, but I must concur with my esteemed collegues.

You have optimesed this list to do nothing well. Power weapons will deny WWB rolls with no orb vs your slashy weapons.

The tomb spyder can't keep up with your destroyes, so either you will lose their speed, or you won't get the spyder.

You have nothing in this list, other than the particle whip that can deal with a 3+ or 2+ save. and you probably will be using the monolith to wash your warriors so that you can pass more WWB rolls. so termies and oblits will murder this list.
