This is how I'd build a army based around Khorne. A few have asked me how to build it, and how to run it.

1525 points.
Gives you 225 points to play with.
It also gives you the maximum number of units you can field in a demon army: 19.
This gives you a 10 unit or 9 unit drop.
I'd split them like this for a balanced effect:
3 Bloodletters.
2 Heralds.
2 DP.
2 Fleshhounds.
1 Crusher.
And:
3 Bloodletters.
2 Heralds.
1 DP.
1 Fleshhound.
2 Crushers.
Or if you really want to run a lopsided force:
3 DP
4 Heralds
3 Crushers.
And:
6 Bloodletters.
3 Fleshhounds.
Either way, you drop the cavalry in the back, and the foot models in front.
You have no shooting but in a Khorne army you aren't pretending to be anything but a CC force.
This army can be stopped, but it's very difficult to do so--especially if you run the lopsided version and it successfully enters.
In this army I'd recommend spreading your remaining points out evenly so you don't have large targets to burn through.
Giving the DP's 'Iron Hide' will cost you 90 points. After that, you have points enough to increase the crusher units to 3 each. Then flavor with what's left.
This is how you run a demon army based around Khorne. Larger units just encourage people to fire multiple units at one of yours, ensuring it's destruction.
Give them enough targets, and most armies won't be able to deal with all of them.
The large number of units means you will have a strong second wave coming in, unlike most demon armies which only get 2.
It's my opinion that bigger units leads to defeat for a demon army in 5th.
Smaller more numerous units are supported by the rules.
You can run multiple chaos factions in an army to make it less a fantasy army and more balanced against more kinds of armies.
But the purists asked, and this is how I'd do it.
Hope that helps.
