Any standards you guys really like and would bring to the game everytime? I think the standard of sundering is great especially against armies where they roll 1 die (VC,OK etc.) - this forces them to roll 2 and "balances" out their magic phase a little. Or banner of hellfire - pretty deadly and can draw out DS and DD

I think almost all of the chaos banners are good. Twice I have used the Greater Icon of Despair (-2 to Ld of all enemies within 12"), which makes a huge difference to those fear tests your opponent has to take, and can really mess with their break tests.

I thought about switching it for the Standard of Sundering in my second game, but decided to play the same list for practice's sake. It might have been good, since all the enemy wizards took lore of Death; but it turned out that the magic phase wasn't that important, while the Ld modifier probably won me the game.

The other Battle Standard that would be totally useful is the one that makes every daemon unit within 12" stubborn. Unless you were facing another daemonic army, that is.

I used the Standard of Seeping Decay, so my plaguebearers could reroll failed to-wound rolls, and I thought it worthwhile.

I used the Siren Standard, and it was totally worth it. Some pistoliers rode up and shot, and were very upset to discover that they couldn't flee, or stand-and-shoot, when the daemonettes charged them next turn.

I used the Skull Totem, and I'm not sure how useful it was, but being able to march even when within 8" of the enemy sounds pretty useful.

He's got a mind like a steel trap. By which I mean it can only hold one idea at a time;
it latches on to the first idea to come along, good or bad; and it takes strenuous effort with a crowbar to make it let go.

I will almost exclusively use the Icon of Despair and the Sirens Standard. I have found through my games that these 2 are game winning items.

The others that I like are the Icon of Chaos Glory which is simply amazing to use with a Nurgle Regen bunker.

All in all there realy isn't a bad icon but rather some that are just not useful in certain armies.
