Doctrines - Iron Discipline, Veterans, Chameleoline, Light Infantry, Close Order Drill

Every unit in the army has Chameleoline. Every unit has Light Infantry (except the vets, they get to infiltrate anyway). Every Officer has Iron Discipline

HQ -
HSO, Refractor Field, Power Weapon; 4x Flamers
Antitank squad - 3x Missile Launchers
Antitank squad - 3x Missile Launchers
Fire Support squad - 3x Autocannons
Fire Support squad - 3x Autocannons

Elites -
10x Veterans, Sgt with Plasma Pistol, 3x Plasmaguns
10x Veterans, Sgt with Plasma Pistol, 3x Plasmaguns

Troops -
JO, Lascannon, 2x Plasmaguns
10x Guardsmen, Lascannon, Plasmagun
10x Guardsmen, Lascannon, Plasmagun

JO, Heavy Bolter, 2x Grenade Launchers
10x Guardsmen, Heavy Bolter, Grenade Launcher
10x Guardsmen, Heavy Bolter, Grenade Launcher

Designed with 5ed in mind. Everything can infiltrate and should get 3+ cover saves across the board.
If you go first, you pick your deployment zone, ignore it, see where your opponent sets up, then set up in cover in good firing positions and blow the cr@p out of them..
If you go second, your opponent picks your deployment zone, you still ignore it, see where they set up, then set up in cover with good firing positions. You then ignore his shooting (with 3+ cover saves, shooting can never be more than 15-20% effective) and blow the crap out of the enemy when you get to shoot..

Lather, rinse and repeat.

P.S. I KNOW this army will be nerfed when the next IG codex is released, but the tournament this is competing in is this year, so its valid for now..

I like it. Only thing i would change is no plasma pistols on your seargents and give the two grenade launchers plasma guns with the points.

Other wise good strategy. I dont know if it would work 100% of the time because of terrain. Very Nice. Better Make sure you don't get assaulted. Let me know how it goes. (Pm me)

combat shouldnt hurt too much. In new ed you cant consolodate into other units so once they eat a unit just shoot them to death after.
However combat units move faster so I wouldnt infiltrate too close to them.
Would be interesting to see how it works

Shouldn't have 10 vets in each should have 5 men bare min. You could take another vet squad with 3 Plasma.
You dont really need the Vet Srg in there unit. There pretty much just going to die.

Thats 1500pts ? need more Guardsmen.

Should Drop Grenade Lan. There not worth it. Take plasma instead.

The JO are fine cause they will be you line squad and morale booster's

I dont now if Missle's are worth it there not as good at Tank killing any more.

Good thinking though sounds like a fun gun line.

I'll probably change the vet sizes.

The ML's and GL's are there mainly because what they are good at killing (horde infantry and transports) are things we're likely to see a lot more of in 5ed.

P.S. it doesn't look it but there are 99 guardsmen there. Smaller than most guard infantry armies I know, but then most guard don't get infiltrate and 3+ cover saves!

Well wrong statement.

But you shouldnt really take more.
3 Speical weapons. thats all you really need.

There cannon fodder.

You really should try to fit more IG.
I under stand that the Cover save is Awsome. (it is turst me)
But when your hit by flamers and CC they'll be butched. So you do need more IG to take Obj.'s

I would agree to keep the vets with 5 only.
