How viable is the Merc Kroot list?

(That one found here?: http://uk.games-workshop.com/tau/kroot-list/assets/kroot-merc-list.pdf)

On the one hand, tons o' troops with decent firepower and some flexibility in the form of the mutations. On the other hand, the highest strength weapon (aside from a meltagun for a character) is the Krootox's S7 gun, which leaves a helluva lot to be desired as far as AT. The only way I see of decent tank killing is by a Shaper Council armed to the teeth with meltaguns (which is not only exceedingly expensive, but I'm also not sure if you can do that). However, with fif edition coming up soon, the notion of kroot in trees gettin' 3+ cover saves sounds pretty nice.

So, what sort of units and tactics should one use if they wanted an all Kroot army?

It's a gimmicky list, and it isn't a shooty list in the slightest.

It's also going the way of the dodo bird...

Are they going to reintroduce a new set of all-kroot rules in a WD or Imperial Armour? If they don't, that would be kind of unfortunate.

But as you said it doesn't have much in the way of anti-tank ability. Basically a couple melta guns and a chain fist for every sergeant out there.
Also 3+ cover from forests currently.

Highly doubtful they will get anything new.
