Ok, so Im starting over from scratch a bit for 5th edition and want to start building and playtesting a force for Baltimore GT. Since money is an issue for me this year Im looking for an effective low model count force that can work well in all missions.

Even more important I want a force that will be fun to paint and play, thus

The LustWing.

The big idea here is denial of firing opportunities and misdirection.

The little Noise Marine Squads will serve to hide in cover on an objective and just be annoying. With fearless and a good cover save position they should be hard to shift with shooting, and they should also allways be on the bottom of my oponents shooting priority. While the enemy’s attention is focused on the bikes and terminators they should prove very surviveable in the new (everyone gets a cover save) edition.

The lesser Deamons will serve as my objective capture force delivered by the bikes and sorceror. By using lash to selectivly mess with my enemies deployment while the bikes draw fire using turboboost saves and high toughness to survive the deamons should be able to clear the objective and hold it with the help of the GD.

The Terminators are at once a massive diversion, and a near invincible CC hammer. With so many high initiative attacks with re rollable wounds this unit should be able to wipe out most opponents with very little damage in return. If place properly they will then draw down massive enemy firepower leaving the bikes, deamons and noise marines to secure the objectives.

All that said, I have not played in some time and I have a tendancy to let my fondness for the fluff of an army cloud my tactical vision.

So, Stelek, why am I on crack?

Will the Baltimore GT be played with 4th or 5th ed rules?
I guess 4th ed, since you have only three troop units.
Generally, winged DPs (with MoS and lash) are the best HQ choices.
Your army lacks fire support units, say to take out enemy tanks.
The blastmasters may hit or miss; I always have bad luck when I need them.
To this end, my advice is to add 3x2 Obliterators.

Bikers are too expensive and the Termie squad is overpriced (5x lightning claws) too.
Split the Daemon pack into 2 squads of equal size.

I agree that its not exactly points optimized, I know Im wasting some points for the sake of fluff here.

( it is 5th, and splitting up the deamons may be a good way to expand my troop count. I think that over trooping in 5th will be a mistake though, you only need enough troops to hold the objectives, the rest of your army should be clearing and supporting them. )

The reason for the claws is to take advantage of the high initiative of the mark of slaneesh. This is intended to be one of those armies that most enemy forces will not be at all optimized to face. With the high survivability of vehicles and open lines of sight I expect to see a lot of at firepower in 5th. Giving them nothing worth while to shoot at can negate a large portion of thier force.

I wonder if replacing the bikes with terminators, or vice versa would be more effective. I really love the idea of emperors children biker armys, but may be just one of those things that cant work on the table.

Replace the Bikers by Termies.
Slaaneshi Bikers are no more special as they were in the old Codex with sonic blaster upgrades.
