well i found my self not happy with my old chaos space marines and decided to strip them and revamp them as the deathguard. the problem is that it seems the only good thing about the deathguard is plague marines but does any other unit have potential with the spendy mark of nurgle? right know i have a crappy army list with daemons and over equipted termies but im moving in a deathguard army with mostly plaugmarines( a lot of meltas and plasma) what are the best tactics for this army and what are its strength and weaknesses?

nurgle armies can be pretty good. with plague marines and demon princes at our core, you will do pretty well. terminators with an IoN are rock hard. i find they have to be in a squad of at least 8 to make it worth it, but 8 T5 terminators arent an easy unit to remove. nurgle raptors are also very good. although not strictly a deathguard unit, a flying T5 unit will be able to give a beating in combat and survive one in return. oblits are almost nurgly, even if they dont have the mark, and are very very good. Regualr CSM arent really worth giving an icon too. unless you have a squad of like 20 you may as well take more plague marines. you could give an icon to havocs if you want to have a fluffy army but in most games it would be a waste.

as for vehicles, most chaos vehicles suck. plague marine squads in rhinos are pretty good. landraiders are ok if you dont want to DS your terminators. vindicators with demonic possession can be fun, but verything else doesnt cut it.

nurgle chosen get very expensive very quickly and dont often do as well as you would hope. possessed are terrible. deadnoughts will shoot you in the face or go running off where you dont want them too. lords and sorcerers arent as good as demon princes.

nurgle bikes. although ive never actually played with any nurgle bikes, my gut feeling tells me that to make them worth it you would need a squad of 10 with all the trimmings. that unit is rediculously expensive so i probably wouldnt use them outside of apocalypse (where it doesnt matter). although T6 is appealing

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live?
