I think there should be a pm sent whenever someone friends you to alert you to the friending. Not an approval or anything, just a general notice that someone has friended you.
This might spark more use of the friends system overall as well if people are directed to it more often.

From tomorrow's todo list for dakka:
- When someone adds you as a friend you get a PM letting you know that someone added you as a friend (preferably included with an option to also add them as a friend).
It's like you are reading my todo.txt.... GET OUT OF MY MACHINE!

Yeah that will be in there too. The changes wont be up on the site for a couple of weeks anyway.

I dont really see the point in doing this? If someone tags you as a friend then the only thing that happens to you personally is their name appears on your 'people who list you as a friend' list. Allowing you to remove yourself from other people's lists will only cause tension and confusion.
