I really like the freak show stuff. But the problem is? Overpriced and underpreforms.

I mean, 20 pt repentia or 30pt archflaggelant vs 11pt sister? yeah no contest.

2 80pt pentient engines vs 1 exorcist. No brainer.

But....I got the models and 5th is rolling around. The new chart looks interesting, for vehical damage. Any one think it preform better for one in 5th?

Hope more old fools come to their senses and start giving you their money instead of those Union Jack Blood suckers...

It's actually more like 3 penitent engines vs 2 exorcists. You know, if you're keeping score.

Penitents are an amazingly fun, fluffy unit if you don't mind losing a lot of games. I've got nine of them painted up...

They're twice as expensive as a killa-kan, and easier to kill. That alone should be some amount of warning. Sure, if they ever make combat they can maul some stuff, but even then, there are too many things that kill them, including hidden powerfists.

Sure, they'll run now, so they'll get there a little sooner. But unless you're really swarming the field with them (and that gets costly), they'll die before they get too far. Even with new damage tables.

My friend has decided they're going to be solid gold in 5th and is planning to have at least three of em for one selection. I'm not entirely convinced, but we'll see.

Can't say I'm convinced either but anything's worth a try - if only so I finally have an excuse to break out some gorgeous models ('Its all in the name of research...')

As always with anything sisters, the trouble is getting them close enough...

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

They will still die as fast as always, even faster when destoyed by imobilized. Not that it matters, since an imobilized engine wasnt much to worry about anyway.

Well I've thought about it myself. Came up with this silliness. Can't say it'll be terribly effective, but humorous...yes I think so. lol

Hmmm, does it really matter whether its 2 to 1 or 3 to 2?

2 to 1 is 160pts(pentient) vs 140pts (exorcist)

3 to 2 is 240pts(pentient vs 280pts(exorcist)

Doesnt really matter one way or the other.

I agree on the killer kan assesment. It is twice as costly for less effectiveness and it drives me nuts. I hope they get something soon. Its a great model.

They may be indeed better in 5th than they were in 3rd or 4th edition, but I still would not use them outside of Cityfight/Cities of Death flavored games.

In those environments, I love to use them and are actually better than exorcists due to LOS issues.

Just slightly off topic, I do feel that the Pyrophant Judge will be an excellent HQ choice. I am seriously thinking about taking my sisters out of retirement just to field that model in 5th edition games. He never saw action in my 3rd or 4th ed games, not even in city fight games. But now...*phew* color me impressed by him.

Thier fun when they work. but they so rarely work. Its frustrating. I've had them slaughter chaos squads and terminators....and then otehr days not even get out the gate.

I've had better luck with archflaggelents. because their smaller.

But the pentient engines are so pretty....

You should break your sisters out. Till a FAQ or a rewrite, their going to be damn hard to beat in competent hands.
