Firstly, I've read countless times on the net that Guardian weapon platforms can move and shoot, contrary to the rules, but there's no follow up in the Dex.

Secondly, on the GW site, I read that different craftworlds have perks to them, kinda like IG donctrines. I.e., Iyanden can field elites as troops (I don's think that's a quote, but it's fairly accurate).
Again, no follow up in the Dex.

"Guardian Heavy Weapon Platforms: a heavy weapon mounted on a weapon platform counts as an assualt weapon in all respects (39, C:E)."

The different Craftworlds used to have "perks" back in the Elder Craftworld codex which was superceded by the new Codex: Elder. However, the new codex allows for armies to be built around the themes of the Craftworlds.

Don't read old articles on GW's website, especially those meant for a previous version of the codex.

All eldar can field ONE of the elites choices as Troops - Wraithguard can be 'upgraded' to a troops choice by using a 10 man squad.

At $25(AUS) per man, I doubt I'll be seeing many of them, though. I know of two people with enough wraithguard to do this, and neither of them live in my area.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Pg 62 of Codex: Eldar in the Wraithguard Squad entry. If you take 10 Wraithguard and a Spiritseer, you can make them a troop choice. Hardly seems worth it for 381 minimum points for the squad.

Moz:
You: "Hold on, you rammed, that's not a tank shock"
Me: "Ok so what is a ram, lets look at the rules."
Rulebook: "A ram is a special kind of tank shock"
You: "So it's a tank shock until it hits a vehicle, and then it's a ram, not a tank shock, and then it goes back to being a tank shock later!"
Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?"

Noted. I will never do that again. Many thanks for the other comments about Wraithguard. I had noticed that one particular instance, but agree that the points cost (and more to the point; the cash cost) makes a Wraithguard squad a bit of a waste of time. Maybe one day.

Cheers guys!!

True enough. I ran into someone at a tournament and called him out on that one. He showed me where it said it in the codex and I promptly shut up and moved on. Who knew?
