Hi folks,
I'm going to take the plunge with 5E and try a new army. I really like what I've seen of the new scouts and I have an interest in the Relictors chapter, so I thought I'd start getting ideas together for a force that would press both my buttons, as it were.
Fluff-wise, I see it as follows: the Relictors are a rogue chapter, pursued by the Inquisition. Most of their battle brothers have been hunted down and slain and the survivors depend upon mobility to stay alive. At the same time, their obsession with 'acquiring' demonic and Chaos artifacts still necessitates surgical strikes and sneaky-sneaky raids behind enemy lines. Tanks and orther heavy armour would play second fiddle to scouts, bikes and 'speeders in this type of environment, although I quite fancy being able to call in a couple of drop-podding Dreads or a Termi squad for some muscle once the objective has been sighted.
Game-wise, I want to deploy as many scouts as possible, all with either bikes or in the new scout landspeeders. I'd love to have the new scout special character as a centrepiece (assuming I can get away with getting him transferred to the Relictors .. this will be a 'friendly game only' army).
My knowledge of 5E and the upcoming C:SM is somewhat limited. I'd really appreciate some thoughts on if this force is viable and how to proceed.
