If a unit is below half-strength and fleeing, does it regroup if it runs into a fearless bubble?

A fleeing Eldar unit will regroup if it comes within 12 inches of a friendly Avatar, regardless of the normal restrictions. This is stated explicitly in the first answer of the Eldar FAQ. Likewise, a fleeing Tyranid unit will automatically regroup regardless of the normal restrictions when it comes within 12 inches of a synapse creature: this is stated on page 28 of the Tyanid codex.

Are there other examples of a "fearless bubble?"

Those are the two I was thinking of. Thanks for clarifying.

Interesting, there seems to be a bit of a difference between the two examples cited here.. the Eldar FAQ notes that the squad regroups IMMEDIATELY when it hits the "fearless bubble," but but Tyranid codex reminds us that regrouping still happens at the begining of the next movement phase.

Also, another example of a "fearless bubble" would be Chaplain Grimaldus.

FYI, Tyranid Synapse does not provide Fearlessness to non-Synpase creatures (although this is a common misconception) so we are dealing with different circumstances.

However, the Eldar ruling will be a bit strange moving into v5, where this situation is actually covered in the rulebook, and is different from the Eldar ruling. In the v5 rules, units that are falling back and become Fearless automatically regroup at the start of their next turn (ignoring any normal restrictions for regrouping).

I wonder if they will change the FAQ when the new rules come out (doubtful) or just leave it with the Eldar Avatar getting an advantage other Fearless providing units don't get.

Yes, the Eldar Avatar better bring his magic decoder fortune ring.

If Harlies convey 'YOU NO SEE ME' to IC's that join them, I see that stupid Eldrad finding a neat way to 'escort' the Tard into CC with fortune and running.

Eldadatard....

Can an IC join a unit that is falling back?
Will 10 broken Boyz auto rally if joined by an IC making the mob 11 strong and Fearless?
