This is a different concept, it's the delivery system.

The Lords ride with the Terminators.

and where exactly should the greater deamon in the first list pops out?

"supersayajin deamonprinz lvl1 to greater deamon lvl2 transformation"?

stelek,
you do a good job with all this armylistspamming, sometimes there is even a good/unusual idea behind a list but with all those copy and paste choices they look so boring even a 16 year old fanboy can make a list that is more fun to play with.
i know you come from the "competetive players camp" (heh, we are on dakkadakka aren“t we?) but come on
there are competetive lists without c&p crappiness!

I love the first list, it's fresh, it's chaos, its evil, its khorne. i have never seen a list like it, i would love to play an army like that with my orks or eldar

Landraider armies will be quite cool, a bit of a one trick pony but hard to match for many.

The first list just seem.. strange.

That first list is impressively Khornetastic, cred for that. I'm assuming you forgot to toss in the 3 skull champs with powerfists though? Cause without them the greater demon isn't seeing the table and those squads are going to have a bit of an uphill battle against high toughness / armored targets ...

Otherwise nice work on the horde of loonies + horde of crazed machines.

Lords are very bad.

I mean you have a interesting Idea.

But to few troops and it's only good vs some armies

Gun Line IG would Rape that hard.
And Orks could kill it. and destory your berezker's

1st List is cool it almost has a cooll theme going there.

@Boss Salvage: Oops I did forget a champ for the GD. lol

@Badger: Your complaining I use multiple units that are the same? Please. Would it make you feel better if every vehicle had a different weapon? That'd certainly be original.
:S

@ghostmaker: I can't build fluffy lists and not include crap units, but thanks for pointing out the obvious. Not enough troops? For a Chaos army, it's about spot on in the numbers. Gun line IG have a terrible time killing 4 Land Raiders, actually. Orks die in droves to Berserkers popping out of land raiders, which Orks cannot kill...you really should play more often...

The thing you hafta remember stelek.... is that at 234 points, I can lose 39 orks before your berserkers make their points back. As for the landraiders, they're certainly difficulat to kill, yet, on the charge, each warboss has a 50% chance of killing one, then throw in all the nobs powerklaws/ rokkits and it's certainly possible to kill all three... just difficult. As for IG..... you should know better... DSing Last Chancers and veterans eat landraiders for lunch

Angron- crushing the theme and fluff of armies one horde at a time.

If only 40k was about making your points back.

Warbosses have a 50% chance of killing one? Really? Please tell me how this works in 5E.

There are FOUR land raiders in the list.

I realize certain IG builds can handle LR easier but those units aren't exactly gunline IG, are they.

In the end, you'd better get your suicide squads in on turn 2 AND you'd better have gone first...else, who cares? The zerkers have been delivered and you're in trouble.

Thanks for answering my request Stelek!
I like the first one. It would be great to see a horde of CC vehicles and loony zerks charging over the table. Assuming it can get to CC, it would perform supremely. Would splitting the zerker squads and giving them Rhinos make the list more durable?

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Hmmm I don't know, you'd probably have to give up the GD to field Rhinos.

Zerkers + Rhinos = get ahead of the defiler/dreads and die.

Gotta keep the horde together I think.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

It wouldn't kill you to tweak the defilers a bit, keeping the dreads in the first one.

I've never understood this rallying cry against multiple units identically equipped. It works on the principle of diffusing enemy fire, redundancy, and multiplication of force.

It's a very sound strategic doctrine based on Lancaster's Square Law and it has been in use in real-world militaries since the dawn of time. I'm pretty sure that it would still hold true 38,000 years in the future...

That's where I learned it, in the military.

Fluff kittens don't like it.

Which is fine.

I always loved running 7 man squads in my slaanesh army, and when people asked why--so I can burn up extra points.

Then they asked why I needed to burn points.

Then they figured out why...

heh,

i know this will be a waste of time but i like to explain myself:

my complain has nothing to do with "every vehicle had a different weapon" or fluff. if you want to play a fluffy khorne army it would be a shame to take things like plaguemarines,...

my point comes from the veteran players point of view ->FUN. for your opponent end especialy for the one guy who plays the army. it is much more fun to play with the "swiss knife/different ways of winning" army then to take one choice 3-6 times and hope one comes through!

of course its a viable tactic and a good plan to overstress the enemy in one department (like mech, all cc, gunline, all drop or infiltrate army). but imho(and i think most veteran players will agree) it is much more FUN to play with a "balanced"(something of everything) army.

and you can do alot of "listtuning" in those armys!

I find playing with a battleforce army, or against one, horribly boring.

1xtermie squad, 1x assault squad, 2xtactical squad, 1xland speeder, 1xpredator, 1xdreadnought...

Boring, easily beaten. See it all the time.

It's crap, and beating it isn't difficult.

Sorry, just cannot disagree more.

Well Any gun line IG army could handle that list.

gun line IG has at least 6 Lascannon's so I mean that list will have trouble. And most Good IG players take Vet's with Meltas and such.

It's a interesting Idea and why dont you let us now how it works for ya.

IG with 6 lascannons won't knock out the LR.

Not even with 10.

Meltaguns will, but by then it's often too late--and you won't stop 4.

Even combining all of it, odds are very much against you.

I agree, melta's in 5th is were it's at. Melta guns may become the new plas for 5th. Especially with Rhino's being more survivable. Las cannon's are to static and with things coming on from the sides not a safe bet at standing back and shooting the whole game like the old days. I ran a three defiler list in 4th that did extremely well and with 5th they just became much more survivable standing in terrain. So I like th defiler list.

.................................... Searching for Iscandar

Defilers stand in between the dreads (IMO) to block fire frenzy issues (bolters < defilers) and keep people from moving melta units towards running dreads since the defilers can fleet and assault.

I think all together it can work, but if you screw up and don't run the wave properly...you will be defeated one unit type after another.

I agree with you that meltas are the new plas. Long range fire is necessary, but melta weapons are really needed to knock tanks out. Meltabombs are of course sick against most vehicles (1,2 or better = autopen).

Someday you'll come back down and we can play!

totally agree, it irks me when people complain about this. Just because an army does not fit one person's idea of "fun" does not make it bad or a WAC list (which is such a stupid concept in and of itself, is it better to make a weak list to make other people happy?)

Badger, i am sure you are a cool guy and a fun opponent, but if that is your stance this is probably a bad site or you as people here look at the game differently. Its about effectiveness and efficiency here as opposed to fluff. But then, you probably know that. A balanced list does not mean one of everything in the dex, it means a balance between the various elements of an army, like assault vs, shooting, mobile vs. static, etc.

and i think both lists would be tough, i have an IG army and i know for a fact that 4 LR's, especially under the new rules, would be nearly impossible to stop in two turns of shooting. 6 las cannons wont even come close to doing it. and once the bezerkers hit you it becomes a very tough game.
