What's with the requests for crazy lists?

First Khorne, now Mech Chaos? lol

Well, I'm always up to a challenge...

I think it's obvious how this particular army works.

No, no extra armor. It isn't as critical to be honest. If you get stunned, so what? Move next turn. It's not like pens autostun ya in 5E...

Anyway 4+ cover saves on first turn, then run around spewing flaming melta death every which way.

Seems crazy enough like it could work. Hmmm...

11 Rhino's - Frak Me!

That would be very tough for a number of armies to deal with. It would probably eat guard alive but I could see it having trouble if it suffers an unlucky first turn of shooting. Would not be that hard to shake/stun them all on turn one with an anti rhino army which I think we will see more often in 5E with the return to viability of the rhino rush.

would be lots of fun to play though, great mobility. I wonder if trading in the havocs for three preds ( two annihilator, one ac/hb) might draw some fire from the rhinos?

Doubt it. I would ignore them until all the rhinos were immobilized or destroyed.

With fewer total rhinos, that makes the army easier to defeat IMO.

Most armies can suck up the fire from preds for a couple turns to focus on killing rhinos.

Lots of Rhinos, or lots of Land Raiders.

I wonder if we will end up seeing a lot of variations on this?

Was very common in 3rd during the first reign of the rhino rush.

I hope so...by the way, why did you want preds anyway?

I don't think the list lacks anti-tank. lol

Well, partially because I think preds look cooler, and I allready have 3 painted in EC colors.

More to the point, however, I just remember back in the days of the previous rhino rush armies started to pack craploads of st6-7 multi shot weapons to deal with rhinos.

Especially without extra armor if the army goes second in turn 1, the enemy only needs to stun each rhino to park you, and will inevitable cap one or two.

With TLOS making it near impossible to hide the rhinos, the preds give something to hide them behind and draw fire.

Upon further consideration however, I agree that just having more rhino hulls and using them to screen each other will be just as effective a counter for a turn 1 barrage while giving you ridiculous target saturation.

I actually like the base concept a lot, and since I prefer to paint vehicles to tons of models I may go with something simillar until the new IG dex.

Lots of armor 11 vehicles and small squads. Are you worried about giving up a ton of kill points?

Not really worried. You can't deal with every scenario in the book with any army. That's the whole point of the scenario system that alot of people still don't get. You bring your army and do the best that you can with it.

As soon as you start modifying your lists to deal with the scenarios, you've already lost.

So why have the chosen and the Havocs got that set of weapons? Wouldn't you be better off setting entirely flamer squads, and entirely melta squads? Flamers are going to do nothing against tanks, (Except the back of some tanks.) so they will be wasted on the turn you use meltas for their true purpose.

You tank shock some infantry next to an enemy tank.

You "fire" at the tank, and your flamers happen to cover the infantry in a bunch next to said tank.

See?

It's also useful to have mixed arms so you can fry infantry and kill tanks--since meltas do nothing to hordes and flamers do nothing to mech armies. Good to have some flexibility.

Well, 11 Rhinos is Rhino rush. The weapon mixture of two meltas and two flamers make them universal but I would not mix them; two meltas might not be enough to pop a tank.

Well depends what tank it is really.

Against a LR, dropping out two squads to destroy it seems like a good idea.

I'd rather have flexibility, and remember you can only fire 2 weapons out of a rhino anyway, and only if you go 6".

something i would guess could happen, is since only half of your army has the anti-tank capabilities, and are embarked in a vehicle that could be stopped early and forcing them to footslog, the opponent could stop the meltas in the first turn. I think this army list could benefit from a real target or roublemaker. hard to kill, looks fearsome, and looks like it can cause havok. a Daemon Prince for instance would be nice

I really don't understand the noise marines. They seem like overpriced target practice in this list.

I'd go for nurgle marines, personally. You really don't need the blastmasters so much or the chump.

I'd also replace mixed melta/flamer squads with dedicated squads (a total of 3 all flamer, 3 all melta).

I agree on the Blastmasters, but the chump is a boon. An AP3 Heavy flamer? Come now. How can you afford to pass that up in a Rhino Rush list? I'm sure Stelek has something up his sleeve with the Blastmasters though.

Catch me if you can.
