This should probably be placed in YMDC, but as 5th isnt out yet...

Looking for a clarification for 5th rules, Are Independent characters with attached retinues not able to be targetted in close combat anymore? Ie besides causing a large number of wounds on the target unit, they would be untargettable while in the retinue? This seems to make Incubi, Command Squads (Sm and IG) and Celestians, etc fairly decent at hiding ICs. Anyone considering using more of these in 5th?

Also, If a sister of battle uses the +2str Initiative 1 act of faith, can it be used in conjunction with an eviscerator for Str 8 chainfist? I cant seem to find anything against this....

Thanks

And yes on the first ones too, the few tings that are IC and have retinues counts as a member of the squad and cant be picked out, except for the spreading of wounds around. Both in HtH and shooting.

Yes, evisc + faith = S8.

Remember you DOUBLE then ADD.

Yes, IC's in retinues they cannot leave (Dark Eldar, yes; Dark Angels command squads, NO) are indeed immune to being picked out.

Retinues are being phased out slowly, but until they are gone...I know running them = win.
