Any pics of the white scar commander? kor'sarro khan? is there a new model? what is his point cost? i saw the sneak peak rules for him. does he allow bikes as troops?

I don't think he's getting a model, at least not straight away.

That's the spearhead set remember : it's not designed to be a viable force it's merely a money grab.... err... I mean a chance for enthusiastic fans to get their hands on the models and codex sooner.

...torrent sites will be busy mid Sep[tember then I suspect.

well....in the ork codex on wazdakka gutzmeks profile page it says nothing about his ability to take bikes as troops. however in the army list he has the "bike boss" rule which allows bikers to be taken as troops. skilled rider makes bikes twice as good, it would be nice if he conferred that ability.

Does anyone else find GW's new habit of breaking up a unit's entry into "some rules, stats and fluff" and "the rest of the rules, stats, and cost" some large number of pages apart frustrating? I really liked the older codex's style of "Ok, we are going to talk about fluff and unit types, then later give you all their rules and costs in one place."

Anyway, this guy looks pretty decent in terms of "reasonable power". Basically just a cool SM commander with "tactical skillz yo". The bit about dedicated transports is pretty neat, though it might be too easy to make irrelevant depending on table size. Still, looks like fun.

Any new rumours of this guy? I started assembling my 18 bikers. If they aren't troops choices in the new book I am just going to quit the game entirely.

The rules are all in one place- just the options and army list are all at the back of the book- where you build your army from before the game- and then refer to pages like the above during the game...

so the allowing bikes thing is in his army list entry (and it is there) which you look at when you make the list- but you'll refer to that page when using him

A bold move indeed, just starting to assemble 18 (!) Space Marine bikers, BEFORE the 5th edition rulebook is officially out (or widespread) AND before the 5th Edition Space Marine Codex is released!

As a Deathwing player I can say, that if you're using the Dark Angels codex, then yes. Anything else is better...

Wehrkind - unfortuneately, it's only new to 40K Having a beastiary seperate form the army list is old in WHFB.

As a LOOONNGGGG time 'Scars player, I am a little trepiditious about the newest SM codex & it's effect on my favorite army (esspecially after the last nerfing the White Scars were forced to endure). The new 5th edition rules, so far, seem pretty solid, so I'm hoping the boys at GW do a good job on the marines as well, and I'm actually loking forward to seeing a WS special character!
