Warhammer/40k miniatures are a somewhat oversized 28mm. That is to say, while they are to scale in general, they tend to have an over exaggerated style that means that other 28mm scale products simply may not fit right.

I'm going to be buying a bunch of the beret heads along with a couple packs of British Steel Helm heads with and without gasmasks for my new IG army.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack |

The scale term you are looking for is called "28mm Heroic". Just fyi.

Moz:
You: "Hold on, you rammed, that's not a tank shock"
Me: "Ok so what is a ram, lets look at the rules."
Rulebook: "A ram is a special kind of tank shock"
You: "So it's a tank shock until it hits a vehicle, and then it's a ram, not a tank shock, and then it goes back to being a tank shock later!"
Me: "Yeah it doesn't really say any of that in here, how about we just play by what's written in here?" |

The Westwind heads work well with GW. Did Guard only so far but even SMs shouldn't be a problem..
This is only a tester for a future guard project, maybe useful anyways:
