Before I buy the Cities of Death book, will there be changes to the book for 5th edition or will it be backwards compatible? Thanks for the input ahead of time.

No matter what GW says, the CoD book is not fully compatible with 5th edition. There are all sorts of inconsistencies between the two plus references to rules that no longer exist.

However, GW has made statements that 5th edition codices will be receiving FAQs to make them fully compatible with the new rules, so it stands to reason that since GW is also marketing that CoD and APOC are both compatible with the new rules that they may well release a FAQ to clear up these rules inconsistencies.

We will all find out next weekend when the new edition is released if they will be simultaneously releasing 5th edition FAQs.

yakface's 40K rule #1: Although the rules allow you to use modeling to your advantage, how badly do you need to win your toy soldier games?
yakface's 40K rule #2: Friends don't let friends start a MEQ army.
yakface's 40K rule #3: Codex does not ALWAYS trump the rulebook, so please don't say that!
