I recently came up with what I think is an awesome HE army. It's not particularly competitive, but it has plenty of coolness in my opinion. The only problem is it has a large number of Reavers, Phoenix Guards, Sword Masters, Shadow Warriors and White Lions. All of which are metal and expensive. Does anyone know how I can easily convert other models into a worthwhile representation of these guys? I'm thinking the plastic glade riders would be decent for the Reavers, but I have no idea for the rest. My greenstuff skills on a 1-10 scale are about a 4, so I'm confident I could do "okish" white lion pelts if I knew what unit would make a worthwhile base. I had thought of sawing the heads off of greatswords and putting some elf heads on to make the sword masters, but I think it'd look bad. As for the rest I'm clueless...
I may have to bite the bullet and start picking up units piecemeal..

For Sword Masters, I've seen a pretty good conversion based off the Spearelf model. Asides from the head and arms, the main body of the spearelf is more or less identical to the Swordmasters (minus some extra armor pieces here and there). The conversion also worked in making the models more dynamic which was a plus. Not sure what they used for the heads, though. I'll try to dig up the link to the conversions later.

I was thinking of something similar for Reavers, using the Glade rider mounts, Silver Helm legs and archer bodies.
