Demon Prince w/ MoS, Wings, Lash - 155 pts
6 Termies w/ 6 Plasma Guns - 210 pts
6 Noise Marines w/ 4 Sonic Blasters - 140 pts
6 Noise Marines w/ 4 Sonic Blasters - 140 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Rhino w/Extra Armor - 255 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Rhino w/Extra Armor - 255 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Rhino - 240 pts
3 Obliterators - 225 pts
3 Obliterators - 225 pts
Total: 2000 pts
Would this list be suitable for the (German) GT final?
The army is rather fluffy, but could possibly be improved by replacing some Noise Marines with Plague Marines, or by beefing up the Termies.

it looks pretty good. you should have a pretty easy time killing MEQs but you will have trouble with nidzilla (not enough high S weaponry), hordes (not enough firepower) and mech armies (not enough ranged anti-tank).
seeing some blastmasters would be nice. they do so much (anti-MC, anti-MEQ, anti-horde, anti-tank)
the oblits should be in 2 squads of 3 (even with KPs its only 1 extra and means you can kill 3 vehicles a turn instead of 2)

If we were to play each other in a tournament, not only would I table you, I would murder you, your family, every woman you ever loved and burn down your house. I mean, what's the point in winning if you allow people that don't take the game seriously to live? |

I would say add icons in the rhinos as with the new deep strike rules making d/s a bit more dangerous an auto hit deep strike becomse VERY valuable.
Also add a heavy flamer in the termie squad, in 5th the heavy flamer is deavastating against annoying coversave protected units and just as usefull as allways against orks(not as good as the doomsirens, but still awesome).
Also I know I am in the minority on this, but in 5th I really think Preds beat oblits for survivability and they also help the survival of the rhinos by drawing the high S fire for the fires couple turns. With cover saves and the better damage table you might find 3 preds (2 annihilator patter, and one AC/2xHB) give you just as much firepower and while sacrificing some versitility, give greater survivability.
I think nidzilla will be your most difficult matchup, sonic blasters are great against hoards as are doomsirens.
Good luck with it, For the Glory of the Dark Prince, and all

It's worth taking Blastmasters on those NM squads for awesome blast damage. But I say ditch one of those NM squads and get MORE termies. If you're bringing them at all, bring lots of them.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

You might wanna consider to split the terminators into two units. 3 combiplasma on rapidfire are enough most of the time.
I wouldnt change much on the loadout of the Noise Marines, i quite like it.
But i agree on the advice on splitting the the Obliterators into 3 teams of 2 each. Gives you improved targeting abilities while giving the enemy 3 targets instead of 2.
I dont believe you should switch them for Pred in any configuration. The 2 Demon Princes, 3 Rhinos and 6 Obliterators should be enough targets to spilt the incoming fire.

Thanks for the input; helpful as always.
The reason for minimizing the number of units (2x3 Oblits instead of 3x2 Oblits) is a kill point issue;
less units means less kill points for the opponent.
The same holds for the Termies. In the 4th ed I would have divided them into two units.
So far, I didn't do the math for comparing the survivability of 3 Predators vs 2x3 Obliterators.
Here is the new list:
Daemon Prince w/ MoS, Wings, Lash - 155 pts
Daemon Prince w/ MoS, Wings, Lash - 155 pts
9 Termies w/ 2 Combi Flamers, 4 Combi Plasmas - 300 pts
6 Noise Marines w/ Blastmaster, 4 Sonic Blasters - 180 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Icon, Rhino w/Extra Armor - 260 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Icon, Rhino w/Extra Armor - 260 pts
8 Noise Marines, incl. Noise Champion w/ Power weapon, Doom Siren, Rhino - 240 pts
3 Obliterators - 225 pts
3 Obliterators - 225 pts
Total: 2000 pts

Allright didnt think of the killpoint issue. Havent got all of the new 5th Edition stuff in my head yet.
I quite like what you did there with the Terminators, while you could always think of taking a heavy flamer instead of the combiflamers.

You should probably gear up the terminators a little better if possible. You will need some powerfists and more combi-plasmas imo.

It certainly looks nasty! It's still beyond me, how they thought giving the option for two DPs with Lash was reasonable, but hey I do enjoy the challenge
When is this GT?? Is it an official GW GT, or just a name of a local tournament? How come it's 2000pts?
