Right behind you...

Had a 5th Ed test game the other day and the issue of SMs charging into CC out of a Land Raider via its Assault Ramp came up. None of us could find any mention of assault ramp in the 5th rulebook. Nor could we find any mention of it in the (current) SM codex. Were we just missing something or are SMs no longer allowed to assault out of a LR's Assault Ramp after it has moved? We all thought Assault Ramp was a particular exception to the Rhino-rush nerfing... Please give a reference if you can. thanks.

Codex: Dark Angels includes the Assault Ramp rule in the Land Raider entry.

I would suspect that Codex: Space Marines and Codex: Black Templars will be changed to match when they are redone or FAQ'd, whichever comes first.

Blood Angels have the "Assault Vehicle" rule spelled out in their Codex. So do the Chaos Space Marines.

Until there is a FAQ for Space Marines (or the new SM codex is released) then they can not assault from the Land Raider if it moves.

This will be a short-lived issue.

You HOPE it will. How many months did we have all the Ork issues?

It'll be short-lived for Marines, because they have a new codex following on the heels of 5th edition.

For Black Templars and =][= armies, we could hope that it'll be included in the 5th edition changeover FAQ's... but I wouldn't count on it.

In the meantime, though, I seriously doubt that many people would have a problem with everyone using the Dark Angels version.

I for one, would be in serious troble if they did, insaniak.

It is an integral part of my assault strategy-so I would be stuffed!

I hate how that kind of dreck gets past GW though.(Proof reading that is)

LR's have had few Variations in about 20,000 years I thought-so how come the rules even NEED changing codex to codex?

Me am confused(and Dumb)

Thanks guys, for your answers. I knew I had read it in several places recently but couldn't remember where. Still waiting for all my stuff to arrive back from Europe, I only have my 5th Ed rulebook and my Templars codex- neither of which mentioned the assualt ramp.

Thanks again- issue resolved...

Well, to be fair, it hasn't really gotten past them yet...

Presumably it was left out of the rulebook because they have started including it in the codexes (where it hould have been in the first place. unit-specific rules should never be in the main rulebook) instead.

So, as long as the other armies' Raiders get errata'd when the new rulebook is released, they're doing fine. Well, fine-ish. As fine as you can do when you keep updating the main rules and then taking 6 years to update codexes that suddenly have rules invalidated.

Damn GW! Release all the damn rules together, I say! And get off my lawn!

Not something we are going to waste any time discussing. Land raiders have pretty much always had some variation on the 'assault ramp' rule, and I expect they will FAQ it at some point. Until then, it's just a house rule that they work the same way they always have, reguardless of which chapter you use.

Looking at the entries in the DH book, since I'm getting together an 8k list for tomorrows big game. Sure enough, they refer to the assault ramp under the frag launcher entry, but don't actually state the rule. )

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Mikhaila-

Check the new DH FAQ that was posted today on the GW site- they specifically mention that DH LR and LRC have the "assault vehicle" rule. Now your DH are 100% official and no longer house-ruled...

Heck, they're better. Per the FAQ, DH LR can use Machine Spirit to target a different unit AND there is no mention of the Machine Spirit being BS 2.............
