Well, I was hoping that the FAQs would answer this definitively, but no such luck. So now I put it to you guys......

WitchHunter Liber Heresius, if you use it to choose your deployment zone, are you also considered to have won the die roll to choose deployment AND GO FIRST (barring the Seize the Initiative thingie)?

Along those lines, does the DaemonHunters Emperors Tarot now grant a +1 to that roll to choose side/go first?

In v5, the roll is actually to see who gets to choose who goes first or second and then depending on what choice you make deployment is dictated.

So the Emperor's Tarot works as written just fine.

The Liber Heresius will allow the WH player to choose his deployment zone regardless of who wins the roll and chooses to go first or second.

In other words, if the player with the LH passes the Ld test then he would get to choose the deployment zone even if his opponent won the roll to go first and elected to do so.

His opponent would still set up his army first and go first, but the WH player would choose the deployment zone.
