Are bonuses used when counter-attacking in the new fifth edition? I have been wondering this, due to the wording: Receive one attack As if they had charged that turn. And my BC packs receive two when they charge. Just wanted to put the question out there, as I haven't the slightest clue.

If a unit with counter-attack is charged, they take leadership test. If they pass they get +1 attack. Doesn't work if they're already locked in combat with another unit, though.

I have read the rules word for word. The new rule states that if they pass the test they get the +1 attack as if they assaulted that turn. The berzerk charge rule says that they get +2 attacks on the charge. If you go by the letter(and i'm sure intent) of the rules, Blood Claws would get +2 attacks on a counter attack. Assuming they pass the lead test. However I wouldn't worry too much non Wolf players. I'm sure they will nerf this when they redo the codex in a few months...
might as well, they have taken everything else that made the wolves special and given it to everyone else...I'm not bitter or anything.
But for now, I would place a sizeable wager that BC's get their +2 if and when they counter attack.

So if it is considered to be an assault....wouldn't you get Furious Charge on it as well?

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

as long as that unit has the counter attack special rule.

Only units with the Counter-Attack USR get a bonus attack on a leadership test when they are assaulted in CC.

Normal units without the Counter-Attack USR will rush forward as a reaction move to being assaulted as part of the Defenders React portion of the Assault phase.

the additional wording is as stated before... if successful all models in the unit get the +1 assault bonus to their attacks, exactly as if they too had assaulted that turn.

Of course, so therefore Blood Claws would get their +2 as if they had assaulted, and if a unit had furious assault AND counter attack they would also treat that as if they had assaulted.

Until GW declares (or clarifies) otherwise.

You do not confer bonuses for things like Furious Charge. The Counter-Attack USR only reference gaining attacks as if you had charged, but you do not act as if you were charged. Because BCs get +2 instead of +1, they will get the extra attack--but remember, the unit that Counter-Attacks will not act as charging with anything besides the attack bonus.

Catch me if you can.

Fair enough....are there any units that would apply to anyway?

If you go by the letter, nobody gets more than +1A. But if you go by the letter, it's exactly as if they had charged, so they get +2A.

I applaud the efforts in trying to make sense of it, but the fact is, it's not possible to make sense of it in the case of Blood Claws.
