I'm looking more and more at Orcs & Goblins, as opposed to building the Tomb Kings I've got sitting in my closet ... But I'm stuck for now on how best to load out my characters. Reading around I mostly see 'set' builds for wyvern warbosses and goblin characters, unsure on the other lads. Here are the four characters I'd like to take right now, and no, no piggies for anybody but the BSB

Black Orc Warboss - heavy armor, ???
Black Orc BSB - spirit totem, heavy armor, pig
Orc Shaman - lvl 2, ???
Orc Shaman - lvl 2, ???

Points aren't totally an issue, I think the list I've got going has about 400 points to buy the warboss and whatever kit is going on the shamans.

hows a couple of scrolls, some nasty arcane or enchanted items 'eadbutt ring for a BS a magic weapon and survivability (piggy) for the bsb and same for the general (killyness, T6ism, piggy) sound?if your focused on black orcs then consider taking advantage of the armed to da teef rule as you pay for it in the basic cost note: not on the bsb as his hands are already full cause of the standard so the rule wont work

One of the nastier things you can do for O&G is to take your Goblin Scroll Caddies and mount them on Chariots. Basically it just gets you extra Chariots that don't take up special slots (which can then be used for wonderful things like Bolt Throwers and more chariots).

For your Black Orc Characters, Heavy Armor, Boar, Shield (or Enchanted Shield) gets you pretty well armored.

I'm avoiding gobbo characters - and actually, all gobbos that aren't crewing artillery or riding spiders - for now, though they do have some great builds. I like the scroll caddy on chariot with baubles (I think that's how it works), or the bouncy squig rider with baubles + da wonda, etc.

I figure I'd go with the Best Hat on the warboss, probably kicking boots, but wondering if there's a weapon worth putting on a foot warboss whose already loaded with choppas, big and small ... And also curious if there's magic kit for orc shamans worth taking beyond scrolls.

This fellow can go toe to toe with most us1-2 targets and try to beat them down with to-hit rerolls and a chance for the killing blow. He's also very durable with the 1+ save and 5+ ward save.

R'n'F Mower: Boar, Heavy Armor, Shield, Ulag Akk'rit Axe, Kicking Boots, Collar of Zorga
This guy opts for the maximum amount of attacks. He also has the insurance against monsters and such with the collar which is very good item as it costs only 5 points (you should always take it on the general if you don't wanna take the other talismans instead). With lessened durability (2+ save is still ok) comes less steep pricetag.

I personally quite like a black orc warboss with bigged's kickin boots and the armour of gork. I belive that when using 2 hand weapons this guy throws out 6 str 6 attacks in the first round of combat, but i haven't used ors and gobbos for a while now.
