The fluff for my preposed vampryn army:

On the planet of Necros 4 a bloody war had waged for centuries, the names of the 2 sides have long been forgotten but what we do know is that one side developed a swarm of nanobots. These nanobots replicated like a bacterium and soon infected the entire planet. The emperor of the opposition made a grave choice, he wiped out all sentient life on the planet in an attempt to cut off the infection. To a degree this worked and the nanobots had no prey thus dying out. But one unit of the nanobot swarm was ingested by local fauna, after discovering a suitable habitat inside the animal the nanobot reproduced a new model, one that merely lived inside the blood of animals.
Hundreds of years later a splinter of the blood drinkers chapter came across the planet and received orders to explore it. As par usual the blood of the local fauna was drunk by the marines and thus the nanobots were reintroduced to a sentient host. But these hosts were like no other. The nanobots were taken right to the omophagea where the space marines bodies attempted to absorb them, this resulted in a melding of the nanobots and the blood cells of the marine. They became bed ridden as the nanobots reconstructed every cell in the marines bodies until each and every cell had become a fully functioning piece of cyber-organic machinery. The nanobots cannibalized the power armour of the marines, turning its complex alloys and wires into a biomechanical mesh that was just as strong and even more complex. As the apothecaries watched in horror the marines became so much more than just space marines. They became the first of the Vampryn.
The nanobots spread from the original infected marines to the apothecaries and then onto the rest of the group residing on the planet. the Vampryn waited patiently on Necros 4 , converting all who dared step upon its infected soil.

Or the fluff for my preposed nurgle ork army? :
After passing through a warpstorm weirdboy Urrzargg Sikik felt a presence clawing at the fringes of his mind. At first he thought it was Mork (or maybe Gork) trying to talk to him, he saw visions of battlefields full of corpses and orks hollering in victory. Urrzargg zealously worshipped the god giving him these visions, pledging all his kills to him. Eventually Urrzargg learnt secrets and spells no weirdboy had known before. After his powers doubled, then doubled again and doubled AGAIN he realized the truth behind his god. It was no ork god, it was Nurgle the lord of decay. Unlike many orks would have he did not reject this revelation, instead he accepted it and devised a plan to corrupt all of the high ranking orks of his WAAAAH! Urrzargg sent the whispers of Nurgle into the mind of his warboss and after a matter of weeks the warboss was converted to the ways of decay. The boyz soon followed the warboss’s example. Some becoming so committed that they allowed daemons into their bodies (becoming daemon boyz). But mostly the boys just said they followed Nurgle to keep the boss happy. The painboyz delighted in all the new techniques they could use and the meks adored the warp enhanced technology. As the decades went by the orks grew twisted and bloated. The warboss became a hulking creature that struck fear into the greatest of orks. And the weirdboy who started it all? He grew more powerful than any sorcerer of the imperium or any warlock of the eldar.
And thus was the beginning of the Black Tide Boyz

Personally the second one is likely to get ur ass kicked by any Imperium or eldar army. i like the nurgle aspect though. i like my armies backstory. they are the followers of a lucky-assed autarch named Roy the Pirate who has one eye and a peg-leg.

Go Go Guardian Rangers! wait, no stop! not the entrenched storm bolter squad!!! SH T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wait, it's just Dessel_Ordo. Nevermind, continue the assault.

right behind you...

Personally I think the first is better, and Autarch is right, bloaty-orks would have a rough time of it... though nurgles toughness bonuses may come into play... and poisoned choppas? (shudders) that is scary.

As for the vampryn though, that would be a really cool idea to do... granted it would be a bitch to convert the models. Also, having it just being a meq army would be, well, so I would suggest having the original marines as elites, hq's and or squad leaders, defianately not majority for the most part. Then you could have the rest of the force fit the more conventional vampire archetype, fast stealthy and ungodly leathal.

Awesome work on the fluffs tho

Peace is a lie. There is only passion.
Through passion I gain strength.
Through strength I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory my chains are broken.
