Hey all, just posting to introduce myself. I am a 31 year old schizophrenic collector/painter/gamer from California, USA.

Been into GW since my first game of Talisman 2nd Ed. in 1989...saw the Space Marine and Chainsaw Warrior in the Timescape expansion and was instantly hooked.

Then I picked up the Deathwing expansion for the original Space Hulk board game from a neighbor. The fiction in the rulebook about the Deathwing Co's homeworld and "Native American-like" ancestors was enough to peak my interest. So, I guess you could say the Dark Angels were my first obsession(and first army). And being a cult fan of the movie "Aliens," I also fell in love with the Genestealers.

I hit up D&J Hobby in Campbell, CA and grabbed the Rogue Trader book along with a small box of tan-colored plastic beakie(MK6) Marines. All through middle and high school my friend Bob and I played 40k 2nd Ed.

It wasn't long before I had my little fingers into all kinds of Games Workshop goodness. I enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1995 and had my WD subscription delivered to me in Boot Camp at MCRD San Diego. During my 4 year enlistment I got a few of my fellow Marines into 40K including one of my Staff NCOs

Other than a short stint with the original Crimson Skies miniatures based air combat game, I didn't broaden my minis obsession "horizon" beyond Games Workshop until I got into college. Now I have interest in(and minis & rules for) 40K, WHFB, Man O' War, Epic, Necromunda, Gorka Morka, Warhammer Quest, Space Hulk, Talisman 3rd ed, BFG, Aeronautica Imperialis, Warmachine, Confrontation (C3 and AoR), Hybrid, AT-43, Dark Age, Rezolution, and coming soon, Helldorado and Blood Bowl.

Had my first game of 5th ed. 40k against Yakface last Saturday. His 'nids thoroughly spanked my Tau....

I'm looking forward to being a part of the Dakka community!

This conversation has even begun to boggle my internet-hardened mind.
