Maybe I'm not reading the rules right, but I just finished observing a game where my opponent claimed that only the IC could use his movement to join a unit, but a unit couldn't use its movement to join an IC.

What do you think?

The instance we had--Zogwart was part of a mob of orks that got wiped out. He failed his moral check and fell back. He regrouped and consolidated 3" forward. Another mob was nearby and the player moved them so they'd end in coherency to Zoggy.

Under the couch

While the rules refer to the IC moving to within 2" pretty consistently, the 'trigger' for joining the unit is the IC being within 2" of a unit at the end of the Movement Phase.

As such, I don't think it makes any difference which of them actually did the moving.

That's my impression, too. I was pretty surprised at how careful you actually need to be to insure that your character doesn't accidentally wind up with a unit you don't want him to be in.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack
