Nightbringer 360 points

Necron destroyer lord - 200 points
Phase Shifter, Destroyer Body, Res Orb

9 Wraiths -369 points

20 Warriors - 360 points

12 Flayed ones with disruption orbs - 252 points

3 Tomb Spiders - 165 points

3 Scarab Swarms - 36 points

1742

Nightbringer and Lord are tank distruction, Warriors and flayed ones can just whittle a tank down to just being on the board, aka no arms and immobilized.

The Lord would rush with the 9 wraiths and sweeping advance left and right while the Nightbringer would distract and attack tanks.

First of all, welcome! I see this list is your second post here on Dakkadakka!

ok, this list is probably not really competitive, though it might be fun. you will likely see lots of people pushing you towards other list which are seen as more competitive, such as the necron flying circus, or Necron monolith phalanx.

in 5th you cannot consolidate into another unit, so the 9 wraiths would be wiped out by massed small arms fire, leaving the lord vulnerable.

also in 5th, losing a combat is devastating, so unless you want all 9 wraiths and the lord to attack only one unit at a time, you are risking losing a combat and having squads wiped out with no chance for "we'll be back". also you would get 20 more warriors for the price of 9 wraiths adding much needed bodies to the "phase out" number.

3 tomb spyders will do what? wait back with the warriors? charge forward as monstrous creatures? I don't really get their place in this list. they don't really do much here.

the nightbringer will attract ever anti tank weapon on the table, while the wraiths will attract all the small arms. once those are dead you have a assault unit that will be defeated in assault, warriors with no orb or monolith, as scarab screen that is easily killed, and 3 tomb spyders trying to stay out of combat.

however I must re-iterate, take everything people say here with a grain of salt and play what you like to play.

You will lose 90% of your games badly.

But it WILL be funny to watch Tau and IG get torn up by Wraiths.

Thanks for the welcome Sushi.

Ok, the purpose that the wraths have in the army is the fact that they have a 3+ save no matter what, also when they move 24 inches using turbo boosters, they also get a +3 coversave along with their +3 inv and +3 normal save. With all those wraths in there, with a lord and a rez orb to back them up, I think would be pretty damaging. The tomb spiders are somewhat tank distruction, and also there to sit behind the warrior, wrath and flayed one squads. If by some chance one of my units gets sweeping advanced, they all get their WBB rolls, making the army very resiliant, because the enemy has to focus on many aspects of the army all at once, instead of just focusing the nightbringer. If they don't focus the nightbringer, then he's really going to mess things up.

Keep in mind this army isn't built for competitive play, it's more balanced to have a chance against my friend's assault army in 5th. I'm trying to see if necrons can still assault heavy like they used to in 4th.

But yeah, I'll be fighting IG, and Black templar. In that situation I'm thinking it would do really good. As far as competitive, I'm going for a more shooty option.

You don't really want to use such a low model count versus Imperial Guard. On paper, you're going to crush every unit they can throw at you. Once. Then you'll consolidate your 3 inches and be left holding your pud in the middle of the field as every lascannon and plasmagun throws steaming invulnerable death at your big dudes, and lasgun and flamers mow down your little dudes. If your opponent is one you're used to playing against, he might cheese out on sniper rifles and you'll watch your C'tan dude die in a terrible and unfortunate way.

The real strengths of the Necron list are Monoliths and Destroyers. If you want to be more competitive, try filling out those areas. If you're just in it for fun and those are the models you've got, by all means, have at it.

Ok , status update. I tested this army out.

It was me and black templar vs IG and Spaces marines, 1750 points per army./

My army did really good, my wraths assaulted in on turn two. I took 9 wraths and assaulted into 3 squad of IG, and took the lord and assaulted a lemen russ. the wraths won combat, and the lord blew the lemen russ to shreds. Like predicted, I couldn't go into another assault so I was fired upon, 1 wrath squad went completely down, lost 2 more in another squad, and my lord took two wounds.

With a tomb spider behind I got all my wbb rolls. All my wraths poped up except 1, and assaulted 3 more units and then a dreadnaught with my lord. All 3 combats were won by the wraiths again, and the lord blew up the dreadnaught. All this time I was capturing points with my warriors, and having the flayed ones deep strike and tear up the space marine squads.

The space marines deep strike terminators in my back field, and my night bringer turned around and killed the squad in two turns.

The black templar player didn't do much but draw some fire, and I ended up killing around 3000 points worth of both the space marine and IG armies before they conceded the game, due to not having any troops left to capture points.

All and all I was plesently suprised at how well the army did.

Congrats on the win! You definitely got lucky with your WBB rolls.

I'm sorry, did you say Flayed Ones were tearing up Space Marines? That's just crazy talk!!!

By the way, since you already have 3 Fast Attack units (Wraiths), you can't have the group of scarabs that are included in your list. The Tomb Spyders can make them, but you can't start the game with them.

You either got luck, or you have terrible opponenets. Take the advice of the guys that have posted, and your army will do much better and more consistently so.
