An unexpected result of the end of cool mail order OOP stuff is that all the old Daemonettes have spiked in value. I took my daemons to a tourney yesterday, and people were more impressed by how much they were worth than anything else. I had no clue they went for that much on eBay.

Not to go too OT here, but how much do 6-model squads of 4th ed Daemonettes go for usually?
I ask because I have one to trade....

They go for about 4 or $5 dollars. Because I'm fair I'll give you $8.
I think it varies with the whims of the Chaos gods. They are sort of a hot property atm, but it really is more of the mounted ones that get people in a tizzy I think.

It really is strange how GW pushed those old daemonettes out. I never saw anything but rave reviews about them, and yet they've been shelved. I dislike Slannesh on the whole (more of a Tzeentch man) but those models were some of the best I have ever seen. They looked sensuous whilst being inhuman, and their physical traits looked plausible and well formed (I'm actually focussing on the claws here, not the deluxe hooters). The new models are dire; harking back to the lobster ladies of old. Their snappy parts look tacked on and I think they are a general mess, as are the new bloodletters.
I don't buy the whole ''it looks better in metal though'' argument. Would a metal marine look much different to a plastic one? It would be so easy to convert the previous metal designs into plastic. I'm sure we would see many more Slanneshi forces if this were the case. The standard of GW plastics is very high, and much more of an incentive to cash strapped players. With their current high standards; i'm baffled as to why they ruin a perfectly good range.
As an aside, the biggest faux pas in terms of metal->plastic miniatures are surely the Cadian Shock troops. Poor detail, poor dimensions, and a uniform that suggests that they'd be more at home in the NFL. Apologies to all the Cadian fans out there, but I think we can do better.
The Tyranids got their cake and ate it when it came to great plastic troops choices.
