okay so ramming is put under the 'tank' section saying its a special version of tank shock. however if you look at the skimmer section it say's that 'Skimmers may try to dodge out of the way of tanks attempting to ram them (as long as the ramming tank is not also a skimmer). I think they ment to put ramming vehicle...

so what I'm wondering is, can any vehicle ram its imply called tank shock? kind of like fleet of foot/claw/hoof. the +1 if your a tank supporst this theory because they're more inclined to go in one direction and are more heavily armored. I know this became a big discussion with the ork trukk thing but I think anything that has an armor value can make a tank shock move. or does this mean their covering for mixed classes. for example a sentinal is an (1)open topped (2)walker. hover castle anyone? that could make a fun eldar house rule thing.

and did anyone else get a kick out of ' on a 3+ the skimmer avoids the tank a d stops in its tracks, its crew confused and disappointed'

Only tanks can cause Tank Shock. The only exceptions to this are vehicle upgrades like the Ork Reinforced Ram which allows non-tank vehicles to cause Tank Shock.

ramming not tank shock,

if only tanks can do it why do they use an example of a skimmer ramming another skimmer?

Ramming is a sub-type of Tank Shock.

Some tanks are skimmers. Hence vehicles that are both tanks and skimmers can cause Tank Shock. Since they can cause Tank Shock, they can also Ram.

Incidentally, proper spelling and punctuation is a courtesy I'd appreciate from you.

The reason it says tanks get +1 to thier ram damage is because the vehicle on the recieving end of the ram also does a hit back against the vehicle that moved, and there are probably vehicle upgrades which will allow non tank vehicles to ram (although I don't know of any at this point).

Additionally, like nurglitch said, there are a number of skimmers also classed as tanks such as the Tau devilfish, hammerhead, and skyray or the Eldar fire prism, falcon, and wave serpent.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

Because many skimmers are also tanks.

A wave serpent ramming a land speeder for example.

In one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 6", kill a few guys with his flamer, assault 6", kill two more guys with his bayonet, flee 12", regroup when assaulted, react 6", kill one more guy with his bayonet and then flee another 12".
So in one game turn an Imperial guardsman can move 42" and kill more than 5 people. At the same time a Chimera at top speed on a road can move 18"...

That's there because a skimmer can attempt to dodge if anoteher vehicle tries to ram it. Unless of course the vehicle doing the ramming is another skimmer.

Anything with a "tank" type can ram (including skimmers) but only skimmers can dodge.

Proudly wasting bandwidth since 1996
