I have:

3 RBT
10 Archers
25 Spearmen Full command
20 Phoenix guard Full Command
15 Swordsman
1 Dragon w/ Mage/Noble rider
1 Mage
1 Tyrion Model (Can proxy as noble on steed)
1 BSB with Shield/Greatweapon

_________

So I played my first game of WHFB and It was a blast... My friend was helping me learn the game mechanics and we did a 1k point battle.

The list I drew up was:

1 Noble with GW, Shield, Heavy Armor
1 Level 2 Mage with Foliarths Robe (Ethreal)
10 Archers
2 RBTs
20 Phoenix Guard with full command w/ banner of sorcery

__________

I think it was a good list, but I didn't get to employ the basic hammer/anvil tactic... as my PG were merely an anvil...

What's good to switch around using the models I have?

i think your list is pretty strong as you have it, but if you were wanting more of a hammer/anvil approach you could easily drop a RBT and 5 PG and bring a unit of 10 swordsmen

Fantasy: 4000 - WoC, 1500 - VC, 1500 - Beastmen
40k: 2000 - White Scars
Hordes: 5/100 - Circle of Orboros
