It's awesome. The Skaven points of view were hilarious, as was the overuse of the term "Squirt the musk of fear."

That's all, just wanted to rant. This is a truly useless post.

Yeah, old Bill likes his fear-musk. Aso, having read I think all the King Gotrek & Felix novels, I would say that Skavenslayer is probably the best of them, just for the characterisation of Thanquol and Boneripper.

Busy somewhere, airin' out the skin jobs.

..took you THIS long to finish that book? It's only been out since like '97!

I have never failed to seize on 4+ in my life!

I'm a slow reader. I'm just at Weathertop in my copy of the Fellowship which I picked up back in 1954, so at this rate I'll be done by April 2438. Maybe that's optimistic though--probably May.

I have to say that I enjoyed the Slayer novels that I read, and particularly liked demon slayer BUT...

I got *so* tired of reading about the musk of fear and Felix bleeding from countless cuts. Only so many times I can read that without glazing over, so I stopped at Demonslayer.

Lol I can't get tired of the "musk of fear", but I definitely agree with the repetition of Felix's wounds, the pair's fateful meeting, and anything else which occupies the first 20 pages of each novel.

Now going off topic for a moment, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series is one of my favorites, but also my all time worst for that repetition of characteristics bit. It wasn't until novel six or seven that he dropped the constant character introductions, though if I had a nickel for every time an Aes Sedai "stared daggers"...

In any case, I have to say that each King novel gets tighter than the previous, and I'm looking forward to the rest. These are the first Black Library novels I've read, and they're a lot of fun, so next I'm onto some 40k novels.

Re: Wheel of Time- I stopped on the third book, because I was starting to have a physical reaction every time the woman character (don't remember her name) tugged on her braid because she was annoyed/upset/angry or whatever. Pieces were good, but the constant repetition drove me batsh** insane.

K. Up to Dragonslayer, you could Bill King was still interested in his creations. After that though, it does get horribly formulaic, and not even Snorri Nosebiter can lighten things up. I don't like that Lurk Snichtonuge just sort of stops existing. Giantslayer is by far the weakest of them, and notably, also Kings last...

However, Nathan Long has definitely breathed new life into them. I heartily reccomend the three he has written so far. In particular, Manslayer is a particularly impressive book, dealing with the Duo's return to Nuln....

Elfslayer is wicked as well, and not just because of Thanquols return!

Ha!

And what about all the spankings dished out as punishment?

Of course, Jordan went and died before actually finishing the series (He really didn't need to drag it out as long as he did!), so now we're in limbo!

Though I hear he dictated his final notes about what was supposed to happen to someone...

Thousands of wasted pages of Aes Sedai...for what? FOR WHAT?

Ahem, sorry. Yes, I'm sure we'll see A Memory of Light soon. And really high quality. Deifinitely.

At this point, I just want it to be OVER!

And I want to read about what actually happens.

Especially after about 6 books worth of, well, not a heck of a lot happening.
