Hey guys, sorry if this is a n00b question, but i've searched the forum and couldn't find an answer (my search-fu could be weak, however).

My question is just like in the thread title:

Do one handed, non-pistol, guns add +1 attack in CC if you also have a CC weapon?

In this case, as per the Ork Codex, I want to give a twin linked shoota (1 handed weapon?) to a Nob who also is carrying a Choppa (a 1 handed CC weapon). (I guess the fact that he can carry two weapons doesn't necessarily mean, he can use both at the same time)

Will my Nob get +1 attacks for two weapons?

Or does the shoota specifically have to state it can be used in CC?

I'm just trying to figure out how I should arm my Nobz.

I found this:

http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131772

Which seems to indicate that I wont get +1 CC. I guess I just want to clarify on what gets +1 Attacks in CC.

The Nob Box set sure did come with a goofy assortment of weapons. I figured it would come with enough arms to give them all the weapon options they have available, but then i remember it wasn't an awesome plastic set.

Shootas aren't defined as single-handed weapons or pistols, so won't confer +1 attack by my interpretation.

Yes. Page 37.

The Shoota is not defined as a 1-handed weapon.

No. He needs two 1-handed weapons for that.

This is what I was thinking, that the Shoota needed to be specifically described as being a one handed weapon (and therefore conferring a +1 bonus attack in CC when combined with another CC weapon).

It's not specifcally stated as being two handed it what confused me, while say the Big Choppa is stated as being a two handed CC weapon.

So I guess unless the rules state I can do it, I can't. Looking at it in this way makes sense.

What in part was confusing me was that the Nob models have one weapon in each hand, so I was thinking maybe they both counted as 1 handed weapons, where they're just modeled like that for a dynamic pose (and to show wargear).

Well, I still need to figure out what weapons to give my Nobz.

Thanks for the helping a major n00b guys

That goes for pretty much anything in the game.

Modeling doesn't count for much, ruleswise. Terminators have Storm Bolters and heavy weapons held in one hand. You'll find any number of examples of models holding two handed weapons in one hand... whether or not they fire them like that, or can use them effectively in close combat.

I think my problem was I was just assuming the Shoota was one handed for Nobz because the model held it in one hand (and they can carry a Shoota and Choppa, while regular boyz who carry a shoota can't carry a choppa.

I guess i'll just make them a CC Assault Unit then.

Thanks.
