So it's up and running finally.
This time we have a lot more news and a slightly modified format with only one discussion topic but much more detail on that topic.
We really go in depth on AT-43 covering the game system, mechanics, all four factions and a discussion on the pre painted controversy.
I also give my gushing fanboy review of Dark Knight.
Let us know what you think, I really want to try to improve the show and make it a real value to the community.
check it out here: This Week in Wargaming Episode 4

I liked it. AT-43 sounds pretty cool and it certainly looks good.
Stelek as a guest for next episode though? Ugh.
I mean, he's either completely different from his online persona and therefore probably not at all interesting. Or he is exactly like his online persona, and I won't want to listen to it. Lose lose?
Good luck with it though, certainly has some shock-jock appeal (worked for Stern!).

Well it was longer then I expected it to be, which is not a bad thing. Something to tell us how long an cast is would be nice, and if there is one, Ok I am blind. More please.

Thanks for the compliments, I will add a length on the show notes in the future.
The idea with having stelek on the show is to provide a different take on 5th edition since it has been so heavily covered on so many other podcasts.
We have Brimstone from Warseer with us as well as Tim as allways to provide a lighter side of things. Andrew is definitely less abrasive verbally than he is in writting but he is still just as opinionated so I am hoping to have a very lively discussion with someone who can allways be counted on to have a different point of view than the majority in stelek and someone who is a long time warhammer fan in brimstone with myself as the moderator who is enthusiastically happy about 5th edition.
It should be interesting and entertaining, and thats what makes the best radio.
Its something of an experiment so we will have to see what you all think about it when it comes out next week. I am doing the recording in a couple hours though and am looking forward to a fun session for sure.
as allways thanks for the feedback, only way I can make the show better is to know what y'all want

Just finished the recording session for episode 5 and I think a lot of people will be suprised how well Stelek comes off in the show. He still is free about things he does not like but I think he presented himself as a very reasonable and very informative host.
Very interested to see how people here react to him on the show. Episode 5 will be up on tuesday so hope everyone enjoys it.

On news items, I really agree about the blind buy aspect of Monsterpocalypse. Its nice to see FFG throwing the blind buy aspect out of the window like AT-43 does.
Hopefully, PP will also see this as a better commercial option.
As for the AT-43 portion:
Its good that it is getting some airplay for a very good rule system, not matter how you feel about the models.
In short: Simple rules, yet the rules elegant in their simplicity.
And thats why 40K rules simply cannot hold a candle to AT-43 rules. It doesn't need to be convoluted in order to make a superior Sci-fi game.
I do disagree with the other speaker as far as rules being lost in translation from french. I can think of very few, if any rules that suffer from this. I would describe it more as an editing oversight in consistency (of which, there are thankfully quite few when compared to other games such as 40K) in many instances than a case of mistranslation.
Now they just need to work on offering model kits with the modeler in mind, instead of throwing prepainted at us and it will be quite a winner.
Until then, it saddens me that this game will not be a more popular option in many game shops.
