hey y'all,
im making a 2000 pt list for my woodies and this is what i came up with last night.
Lords:
Treeman ancient
murder of sprites
annoyance of netlings
lamentation of dispairs
Heroes:
Noble
Bow of Loren
Tally of protection
light armour
spellsinger
lvl 2
calaingors stave
spellsinger
lvl 2
deepwood sphere
Core:
Glade Guard x10
Glade Guard x10
Glade Guard x10
Glade Guard x15, musician,
dryads x 10
Special:
Wardancers x10 bladesinger, mucisian
warhawk riders x2
Rare:
Waywatchers x8
note my noble is in the unit of 15 glade guard.
and the wizards are in 2 of the other glade guard units.
i plan on using the treeman to attract attention and to challenge my opponents lord. while the opponent focuses on the treeman ill use the spellsingers to move forests around to block LOS for artillery/provide concealment where its needed. the wardancers and dryads move so they can the can flank units brought near the treeman. the warhawk riders fly around on his flanks and just keep him further distracted from the wardancers and dryads. the waywatchers will target rare units or the most threatining, while the glade guard shoot the core units and make casualties wherever they can.
comment and/or (constructive) criticism appreciated
keep in mind that i will be mostly facing high elves and dwarves with this list.
thanks
-chase

Howdy,
I would suggest dropping the armor from the noble and a unit of glade guard and getting at least one unit of glade riders. Imo they are crucial to the WE army, slowing marches and feigning flight to keep things from just barreling forward into your archers. A defining premis behind WE is having a hammer with no anvil. Rather than having a unit take the brunt of the enemys charge, WE have a unit tempt the enemy into a failed charge, all the while pincushoning them with arrows. I feel that you have the hammer, you have the arrows, but you dont have any units to bait.
I also wonder if your hawkriders are really strong enough to perform the task you want...but you wont know until you actually play a few games.

the light armour was 2pts and i had a handfull to spare so i figured what the heck why not. the warhawk riders from my experiences work well with making the opponent divert recources from the front to deal with them. ill try the glade riders again and see how that work.
thanks kiwi

you should really look at the wild riders. honestly they are about the scariest thing in the WE book just because of the strength and the high maneuverability.
for skirmishers like wardances 8 is usually the best number that my gaming group has found. dunno who but it just seems to work best. now your local group may use more terrain so they might be easier to hide, so it all depends upon the terrain usually put on the board.
personally i also think you should drop the warhawk riders for a great eagle or two. yes that would mean drop the waywatchers, but with only 8 they aren't doing the most really so you could us the points for them to get more glade guard or some fast cav (which i would suggest) as IMHO there can never be too much fast cav in an army

Some tips:
It's usually wise not to load up the ancient tree with spites as he comes awfully expensive otherwise. The annoyance is compulsory but you can and should leave it at that (the extra dispel dice one is handy, but only if you're low on magic defense otherwere and have the extra points to spend). You're also missing the hail of doom arrow which would be a very good replacement for the bow of loren on the noble. Generally only an alter highborn has enough attacks to make the bow of loren worthwile and even he needs some magical arrows to help (the arcane bodkins are best ofc). Giving dispel scroll(s) to the mages and some useful mundane equipment such as great weapon for the noble would be advisable as well.
As was said, you could certainly use at least 1 unit of wild riders, as this list lacks a bit in the mobile hitting power department. Taking one gg unit out and trimming some fat here and there (drop a couple ww etc.) would get you points for that.
