The Plan is simple, the heavy weapon teams sit behind the infantry platoon (4+ Cover Save)and shoot up anything that moves. In the meantime, the veterans deepstrike and take out transports, slowing the enemies advance and giving me more time to shoot at them.

Angron- crushing the theme and fluff of armies one horde at a time.

I'm not a fan of Heavy Weapon Teams, but I know there's a variety of debates about that. Keep in mind, though, with this strategem that just as your HWTs get 4+ cover saves from your line squads, the line squads also give 4+ cover saves to anything your HWTs are shooting at.

I can appreciate the strategy of clearing the enemy from the table - but you'll need to capture mission obj's with those troop platoons. You may need more troops, remnant squads deepstriking with flamers may help.....

Also you can save points by taking HW teams in HQ and not having to pay for the useless JO and command squad

I heart SYR 8766

For all your bravado, if the US Army decided to invade, Wisconsin is it?, in force supported by a heavy bombing campaign for the month before, weeks of shelling from battleships on Lake Superior, and a full tank thrust (crushing the cows beneath the treads), I don't think that your .22 is going to make much of a difference really... At some point these sorts of decision-making skills lump you into the same camp as the Lehman Brothers, the White Star Line shipping company, and mothers who smoke during pregnancy.

Have you heard of kill points? You have 32. Each IC, each command squad, and each other squad is a KP. And 32 means you loose any KP game you play.

Also, your leadership is a little low. 8 with ID is cool, but I think you'd seriously benefit from some vox or something.

I'd consider putting the lascannons in your 10 man infantry squads, maybe making 2 platoons with 3-4 squads instead of 3 platoons of 2 squads, that way you drop a full 2 kill points. Just hid your officers as best as you can. Then I'd either drop all three of the heavy weapon platoons for basilisks or lemans, or hellhounds. Those are less killpoints, and arguably more effective, since they can move and fire. I also second the suggestion of remnant squads for claiming.

You make a good point - but seriously, how do build an IG army these days that won't outnumber the kill points of an opponent by 2:1?
