It's got 12 HV-Bolters and 12 Autocannons plus the 2 flaming command squads of doom for hoard control and 8 Laz/Plaz squads for armor control.

Give it a look and tell me what you think.

Since you seem intent on min-maxing the maximum number of ranged weapons, why don't you just go all out?

You can really make a much more shooty IG list than this, can't you?

I think you should.

I prolly could have gotten in a few more heavy weapons, but it would have cut alot of bodies out of the list. I hope 165 bodies at 1850pts is enough, I really dont want to have to paint much more than that.

Any other comments?

I don't know why you have COD. If you get assaulted, either you've speed bumped the other guy...or he's hit you all along the line, and you're in trouble.

Its free and if I have to sacrifice a unit or two, they get to swing back. If they kill one enemy the doctrine has more than payed for itself.

COD is free. You should never not have it.

You do realize with the assault rules as written, it's entirely probable you won't get to use COD?

That's why I was asking.

Not why you have it, but why you think you'll get use out of it.

Well, as I dont have the new rule book yet, I'm waiting to get the new rule book in the new boxed set, I cant really answer that. Again, its free. if it only EVER works once, its payed for it's self.

why wouldn't you be able to position models in the combat so that they are base to base? It would be tricky, but I dont see why it couldnt be done.

The rules can be used to force you out of base to base contact is why.

ANYONE not in base with every other model, and you lose COD.

2 problems.

1: Once your enemt gets into hand to hand you may as well hand over the game.

2: You will have trouble moving around and capturing objectives. You will likely lose most objective games or maybe tie if you are lucky.

"Do NOT ask me if you can fire the squad you forgot to shoot once we are in the assault phase, EVER!!!"

LOL! my win/loss record is horrible. I really dont plan on winning, I just love to play, to sit around BSing with friends. I try to give them a close game, but as a general I pretty much suck.

In 5th, I dont see why this is still a forgone conclusion. Surely the good general* can use the new rules to either slow enemy assault units or out maneuver to avoid chained combats.

* I in no way, shape or form say I'm anything better than a mediocre general.

Looks good to me, and quite deadly for 5th edition. My only comment would be to drop the mortars, drop the bionics and power weapon, and do what you can to scrape up the points to give your two company command platoons 4 melta-guns each. Take drop troops and you will not have to worry about indirect, or move shoot move units. Plus if you catch av14 in the open than the melta's will murder it. Other wise good list. You should be able to easily strang CC monsters and then rapid fire them to death in your turn.

foil is right, go for drop troops on the command squads (apart from the CHQ) and then you have thew ability to hit JSJ units or indirect firind units. drop the uneeded stuff like shotguns and rondom bolters (unless you have a few spare points to kill) also, go for the thrid heavy weapon platoon, you have plenty of bodies and more shooty is what the army is all about.

and keep COD, there is no reason not to have it.
