I am trying to come up with a blue paint scheme for my ork army that doesn't look exactly like a death skullz scheme, simply because my army isn't very looted. I was thinking originally blue and red, but that looks pretty bad.
I was thinking maybe a mix of navy and light ice blue for contrast. Another thought was to do aqua colors, but I figured that would be overkill with the green skinz. I want the army to look original. Any ideas for colors that will go well with blue???

Well if you really want to stand out, use orange. On the colour wheel (google it) it is the polar opposite of blue. This also goes for red and green, hence the popularity of speed freeks. The only areas you won't see these contrasting colours are in interior design catalogues and high brow catwalks.
Just thought it was worth a suggestion. Don't see much orange on the gaming table, and can't see why.
Whatever happens, good luck with your army.

Unless you are playing an apocalypse battle against a Fiery Lions company and a penal legion regiment.
Try blue and brown. I like those colors but I don't know how they go together. Also Yellow and blue you might want to try. Okay now I am just guessing, good luck.

Tabletop quality Orks for Sale. Plenty of converted vehicles. Moving and don't want. PM for details.

The point with contasting colours is that they contrast, offsetting the model. Look at Goffs, Ulthwe and Black Templars(Black and White), Speed Freeks, Biel Tan, certain Dark Angels (Red and Green) for proof that GW follows the same rule.
I like Deathskulls, but suggesting another dull colour will swamp the model. A dirty orange on a small area (i.e a shoulder pad or a loincloth) will help offset the blue.

Try a base coat of the foundation blue its a nice looking color by its self ( goes over black well ) and you can blend in all matter of bules for highlights. Try using grey as the second color. I use the vellejo color line mostely so a coat of black glaze does some nifty things too. Hope it helps
